Massimiliano Terzo was born on December 6, 1949, in Orvieto, Italy and grew up Rome. He is director, author, screenwriter, journalist, Italian documentary maker. He worked with Sandro Bolchi, Ermanno Olmi, he received the first documentary notions from Mario Soldati, his teacher for the direction of photography was Aldo De Robertis, although at a very young age he followed internships with Giuseppe Rotunno and Vittorio Storaro. Subsequently the "Report Film" gave him the task of developing a reportage on the African continent, crossing the Arabian desert with off-road vehicles he got the filmed evidence that children without any national and international information naturally all play the same games, like the rest of children from other countries. Massimiliano Terzo continues his studies for at the Experimental Center of cinematography of Rome, he has the good fortune to know and to have as masters many important names coming from neorealism as already mentioned Sandro Bolchi, Ermanno Olmi, De Robertis. He graduates in Communication Sciences and is often called to the film sector Rai contract study "D" in Rome, he is appointed for numerous journalistic services and for the study "Dodi" in Rome he is frequently sent for parliamentary services.
He is dragged into the path of documentary and extraordinary reportage, although his passion and predisposition remained the cinema. Sent by the Rai external troupe for the former Soviet Union Reportage diplomatic meetings. In 1978 he was called to replace a cinematographic operator by Rai Torino, for the drama "Bel Ami" with Corrado Pani, Veronica Lario directed by Sandro Bolchi. At the XXIX International Cinematographic Art Exhibition of 35 mm he presents and are selected "For those who play the Bell", "Pistole e pane", "Sacred paths". At the XXX International Film Festival, held in Salerno, presents the feature film "Terra viva" which gets positive criticism for the criteria of cinematography applied. In 1983 he was sent to Lebanon and made films on the complex war conflict, during his career he made twenty-six documentaries. Called by the Institute of Cinematography and Television as a teacher, after a year he abandons teaching to devote himself to theater. In 1985 the ancient theater "Duse" of Rome reopened, it takes care of its restructuring and planning for over twenty years. At that time he was very hard on critics who did not give space to the very young artists, for whom the newspaper la Repubblica published an interview of his own, not less the press agency Adnkronos which has turned its attention to its operations in favor of art. For "Roman Summer" he asks and obtains the large outdoor space of the Museo della Civiltà Romana, the only space of the E.U.R. of management of the Municipality of Rome, in that place invents the "EURMUSE" seasons that take off from 1989 until 1993, as well as producing and directing the works in the works: "Il malati immaginario" by Molière, "Seven characters in search of "author" by Luigi Pirandello, "La locandiera" and "A curious accident" by Carlo Goldoni, "Cesare and Cleopatra" by George Bernard Shaw, "The Taming of the Shrew" by William Shakespeare. In the winter of 1991, passing through the Galleria Colonna, today Galleria Sordi notes the degradation and total disinterest of Roman citizens, proposing a symphonic concert to the Municipality of Rome during the Christmas period, despite the skepticism of the cultural office of the Municipality, which by way of of the cold climate he didn't see a symphonic orchestra as opportune, Massimiliano Terzo obtained the permits and for three days the symphonic concert took place, which the following year repeated with a lyric concert.
Still in 1991 he was sent for the realization of films on the Serbian-Croatian ethnic war and published for the Bosnian Serbian ethnic war, the films made had an international diffusion. In 1993 he was elected President of the Italian National Consortium of Entertainment, still in office today. From 1994 to 1998 Massimiliano Terzo was appointed in the eighth cinema review commission at the time Presidency Council of Ministers (former Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment) representing the directors. He is the founder and head of the periodical Giornale bosale since 2003. Massimiliano Terzo has been very sensitized by the experiences in the war zones towards those less fortunate handicapped, he develops the Therapy Theater, which therapy supported that is based on communicative principles included in the theater and on the different forms with an involvement controlled by the expressive communicative method that induces spontaneously the person suffering from mental disorder to isolate the disorder itself.
