Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!
Match #1: Chad Gable def. Sami Zayn The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa unwilling to break rules to help him, Chad Gable sent them both to the back. As Gable continued to berate Dupri and Tozawa, Zayn took advantage to hit a Blue Thunder Bomb, but was unable to come up with the victory. Gable locked on the Ankle Lock to try and get the submission victory but Zayn was able to make it to the ropes. Screaming at Otis to help him, Otis was conflicted before deciding against helping his leader. Once again, Gable slapped Otis for his insubordination. With Otis irate, he clobbered Zayn behind the official’s back. Gable then took advantage...

Match #1: Queen of the Ring Quarterfinal Match – Iyo Sky def. Shayna Baszler The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
A renewal of an epic rivalry highlighted this Queen of the Ring Quarterfinal clash between Shayna Baszler and former WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky. Sky took out Baszler’s knee before hitting a superb moonsault from the the top rope onto Baszler outside the ring. Baszler looked to have Sky fading in the Kirifuda Clutch, but Sky booked her ticket to the semifinals after hitting the Over the Moonsault, somehow surviving the punishment of Baszler.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5 Match #2: King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match – Gunther def. Kofi Kingston The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Rhea Ripley stands out as one of the most powerful female wrestlers globally today. Her remarkable physique, characterized by significant muscle mass, sets her apart from the average wrestler. This impressive physique is the result of rigorous gym sessions and a disciplined diet.
Initially, Ripley’s body was noticeably leaner when she began her career, lacking the muscular definition that now defines her. Over the years, her physique has undergone a remarkable transformation, evolving impressively to its current state.
Rhea Ripley’s Insane Body Transformation Is Truly Inspirational
What a difference seven years can make. The evolution of a WWE Superstar throughout their career is something fans truly appreciate, and Rhea Ripley exemplifies this notion perfectly. Her journey demonstrates that the early stages of a wrestler’s career may not accurately depict the Superstar they’ll become in the future. However, this transformation hasn’t always been smooth sailing for Ripley.

WWE Nxt superstar Valentina Feroz is known for her intense battles in the ring. She typically teams up with Yulisa Leon for tag matches under the mentorship of Saurav “Sanga” Gurjar.

The 27-year-old Valentina, real name Rita Reis, had her black hair flowing down as she appeared on several Ig Story slides. She wore a red short sleeve shirt featuring blue and white trim on the sleeves along with cutouts.

Alexa Bliss poses for a social media selfie. Pic credit: @alexa_bliss_wwe_/Instagram
WWE superstar Alexa Bliss is reminiscing about her days as a younger wrestling star on the come-up, way before she was the Goddess or The Fiend’s sidekick.
The multi-time champion got her start with WWE’s Nxt, where she was initially in a managerial role with Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy before moving on to the singles competition.
Years of hard work in Nxt ultimately resulted in her getting drafted to the main roster. She’s since captured multiple championships and is on the verge of adding another tag team championship reign to her list.
On Sunday, the 31-year-old Bliss shared a throwback photo with her millions of fans and followers in which she wore a familiar blue and white tutu dress with a sleeveless blue top, white knee pads, and boots.

WWE Nxt Women’s Champion Mandy Rose shared another stunning bikini pic with her followers. Pic credit: @mandysacs/Instagram
Mandy Rose continues to display some gorgeous bikinis for the summer season, including the two-piece item she showed her fans after her big victory at this past week’s Heatwave.
The WWE Nxt Women’s Champion was fresh off a win in her title defense match this past week and, based on her Instagram post, had “that summer feeling.”
In her latest photo, she wore a skimpy green bikini which left little to the imagination as she posed on the sands of a beach. Rose had her hand resting against part of a solid structure, which may have been holding up a boardwalk or pier above her.
“Holding onto that summer feeling,” she wrote in her caption, giving credit to Harry Lhgfx Photography for the shot.

Ahead of a huge match to defend her title, WWE Nxt star Mandy Rose reminded fans of the upcoming show by sharing a sizzling swimsuit photo.
The toned and tanned WWE Nxt Women’s Champion posed sideways in a bright orange swimsuit on the beach as she rested her hand on a volleyball with a net nearby.
In her pic, Rose also adjusted oversized squarish sunglasses to protect her eyes and wore a matching orange scrunchy to keep her hair in place.
“Bringing all the heat tonight #NXTHeatWave,” she wrote in her caption, reminding everyone of the upcoming event’s start time and channel.
Rose also credited Harry Lhgfx Photography for the shot, which was one of several she shared from that particular orange swimsuit shoot at the beach in recent weeks.

Dakota Kai has returned as part of a new alliance in WWE. Pic credit: @imkingkota/Instagram
WWE star Dakota Kai is back in the spotlight, as she recently made her surprise return at SummerSlam, aligning herself with a brand new faction in the women’s division.
That includes former Nxt Women’s Champion Io Shirai, now known as Iyo Sky, and former WWE SmackDown Champion Bayley, the leader of their alliance.
Taking to her Instagram on Thursday, Dakota Kai showed off her recent in-ring look from a photoshoot, most likely for WWE media.
It features an intricate black and pink design on her ring shorts and top, which also features mesh paneling and a collar in matching colors.
Dakota’s boots are all black and feature some pink streaks around them. The entire outfit also matches her unique hairstyle, which is part blonde, part pink, and part black.

“Monday Night Raw” saw its linear ratings rise this week as the post-Vince McMahon era of WWE begins.
Monday’s show on USA Network drew an average audience of 2.3 million viewers and a 0.6 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic, according to Nielsen figures. That represents a two-year viewership high for “Raw” and an improvement of 21 in viewership and 20 in the key demo versus last week.
Paul “Triple H” Levesque is now in charge of WWE’s creative efforts in addition to his role as executive vice president of talent relations. Monday’s show drew praise from many wrestling fans, with wrestlers like Ciampa, the three-woman team of Iyo Sky (formerly Io Shirai), Bayley, and Kai, and Mustafa Ali being prominently featured. WWE Hall of Famer Edge also appeared and called out his former stable, The Judgement Day.

F— that cheap f—! Vince hid a monkey in his suitcase so he’d have something to pee on during the flight home! Vince invented disappointment so we’d all have to suffer when women won’t let him punch them in the face. Vince hates Jesus! Vince…ohhhhhhh…this check say $12,000…thumb covered up the zeros. Vince sure is great and so is Nxt!

Women’s wrestling sure has changed over the years, and in the time we’ve been watching these superstars on our screens, we’ve seen some incredible athletes, characters and workers, but we’ve also seen some who couldn’t do things in the ring very well. This is the case in all areas of pro-wrestling, but with this we’re going to look at the five best and five worst WWE Women’s Champions of all time. Now, this isn’t a personal attack on any of the women who fall into the “worst” category, because I think it’s important to point out that all wrestlers bust their butts in some manner or another. I respect that, but I’m looking at the in-ring careers of these talents, from wrestling skills to promo-work. That’s pretty much it. This will include WWF, WWE and Nxt Women’s Champions,...

So usually, when it comes to Which is Better, I stick to movies, with horror films regularly being the battling topic at hand. This time, though, I thought I’d turn to a controversial topic in the world of professional wrestling, and pit two competing wrestling programs against one another. This isn’t about ratings or drama or fandom, but rather a straight forward look at what I, a pro-wrestling fan who watches both WWE and Aew every week, thinks is the best show between Aew Dynamite and Nxt.
Now, this is bound to upset some people, but please, dear wrestling fan, understand that whichever outcome this article has, it doesn’t mean it’s “correct”. This is subjective, it’s all about opinions, and you can disagree, and that is your correct answer too. It is fun, though, to pit two things that are related against each other in order to choose which is,...

It’s easy to look forward to a TakeOver show, because time has taught us that way more often than not these events are packed with drama, action and lots of wrestling. Nxt TakeOver 31, taking place at the newly renamed and remodeled into the Capitol Wrestling Center, a tribute to Jess McMahon and Vince McMahon Sr, a respectful nod to the roots of where WWE, and Nxt, began. With fans on LED boards (much like the Thunderdome) and pods featuring groups of fans, this was a new look in a year filled with shows that take another step forward in adapting to how we currently are all living. Nxt TakeOver 31 was, as is the case most of the time, a five match card, with three of the Nxt Championships on the line.

Match #1: Shotzi Blackheart def. Dakota Kai The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Dakota Kai personally requested this one-on-one bout after being eliminated by Shotzi Blackheart in last week’s Nxt Women’s Title No. 1 Contender’s Battle Royal. Both competitors were shaken up after Blackheart hit a high-risk, modified Sliced Bread No. 2 on the apron, but Raquel González tried to grab the advantage for Kai by getting involved moments later. Unfortunately for her, Rhea Ripley arrived to neutralize Kai’s enforcer. Meanwhile, Blackheart evaded Kai’s facewash kick attempt and rolled her up for an impressive victory.
My Opinion: 3.5 out of 5 – These two knocked the stuffin’ out of each other.

You know, the one with the large house, swimming pool and room for a pony. What’s that Violet? You’re going out to dinner with Bruce? You’ve got your nice dress picked out! Oh, that’s lovely! Bruce is wearing it. He thinks he looks pretty. He won’t leave the house unless he gets to wear the dress. Well dear, it’s the 90s. You should feel lucky that he doesn’t want you to grow a moustache!

Match #1: Io Shirai def. Shotzi Blackheart The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Shotzi Blackheart quickly proved she was more than up to the task of standing toe-to-toe with the champion, putting forth a courageous effort against Io Shira. In the end though, it was The Genius of the Sky prevailing, putting Blackheart away with her patented top-rope moonsault after a worthy challenge.

The Archer of Infamy, sporting taped ribs,...

Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and on this this episode of Nxt, we try to find out what the hell the brand’s initals actually stand for and why there’s a church in my town with the same name. Is Nxt a Christian endeavor? Is Jesus the general manager? Inquiring minds want to know! Well, as we ponder these pressing questions, let’s see what this week has in store…
Match #1: Imperium def. Breezango – Nxt Tag Team Championship Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Tyler Breeze & Fandango found a way to get on Imperium’s nerves even more than they already were, mocking their opponents’ signature entrance as “Emporium.” Chaos erupted with the arrival of Malcolm Bivens and Indus Sher, who were met by Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan for an all-out brawl. Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Johnny Bababooey can kiss my ass. That little prick has been nipping at my heels since he learned that you can order pizza over the phone. His momma stuck her stomach in the microwave to make the third trimester go faster. If I have to listen to him talk about Grease 2 anymore I’m gonna hurl. Son of a b—-! I…am writing the wrong thing to the wrong people. I really wish this delete button worked. I wrote my parole officer about a new job opportunity and she said “Blow-jobs are not real jobs.” I asked her why she said that and her reply was “I think your pimp and I have the same last name.” Now, I’m under house arrest. Well, at least it’s more time to review wrestling.

Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Shad Gaspard did indeed drown when he sacrificed his life for his son during a rip-tide. He may not have been the best wrestler, but he seemed to be one of the good people in wrestling and that is a hell of a lot more important when it matters most. Larry Csonka’s death has cast the same sort of pall over the sport of professional wrestling (“fake” my ass). What a weird week this has been. Well, in honor of two people who seemed to be worth their weight in gold, let’s get to the matches.

Match #1: Johnny Gargano def. Dominik Dijakovic The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The new attitude of Nxt’s resident power couple was on full display with Candice LeRae getting involved in this bout multiple times, including a distraction that allowed husband Johnny Gargano to remove the top turnbuckle. Johnny Wrestling later countered Dominik Dijakovic’s powerbomb attempt, sending The Rare Breed face-first into the exposed steel and making him a sitting duck for Gargano’s slingshot Ddt known as One Final Beat.
My Opinion: 3.4 out of 5 – There was some good wrestling in here, but it felt like merely a taste of what these guys can really do. The...

Match #1: Isaiah “Swerve” Scott def. El Hijo del Fantasma – Interim Nxt Cruiserweight Title Tournament Group B Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
“Swerve” improved his tournament record to 1-1 in crafty fashion, dealing El Hijo del Fantasma his first loss by pinning him with a crucifix roll-up after an exciting back-and-forth encounter.
My Opinion: 3.1 out of 5 – Like Paul Williams in a velvet blender set on “the guy who directed Vegas Vacation better shut his ass”, I enjoyed this match. This was more like a tastes of what these two can do together, but a quality demo reel is better than a bad match.

Io Shirai will get a chance to step to The Queen. I do want to say that I appreciate the wrestlers coming out and still competing during this whole coronavirus craze. Match #1: Rhea Ripley, Toni Storm and Candice LeRae def. Kay Lee Ray, Bianca Belair and Io Shirai The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The piecemeal teams ultimately broke down in favor of Ripley, Storm and LeRae. The Evil Genius of the Sky and The Est of Nxt were unable to stay on the same page, and the Nxt Women’s Champion took advantage, taking Belair down with The Riptide for the victory.

Match #1: Adam Cole def. Finn Bálor – Nxt Championship Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Finn Bálor put Johnny Gargano out of action for nearly two months, but Gargano may have found the only higher retributory price for Bálor to pay — a squandered chance to reclaim the Nxt Championship. Adam Cole pinned Bálor — with plenty of thanks due to Gargano — to retain the Nxt Title. Match #1: Tommaso Ciampa def. Angel Garza The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Tommaso Ciampa is back and appears as dangerous as ever, and that could mean bad news for Nxt Champion Adam Cole. The Blackheart went a long way Wednesday toward extinguishing any doubts about his recovery from injury. In his first action since February, Ciampa showed little ring rust during a defeat ofAngel Garza, securing the victory after an elevated hanging Ddt dubbed Willow’s Belle.
My Opinion: 3.2 out of 5 – This was way too short.

So, we’re a few days on from the debut of Nxt on the USA Network. A new era for the gold-and-yellow brand of WWE. The show has gone from one-hour to two-hours each week and will, in a couple of weeks time, be a full two-hour live show on USA. The debut episode, which saw the first hour on USA and the second hour on the WWE Network, was a hyped and anticipated program. All wrestling-fan eyes were on it. So, how was it, and was it a strong intro to the brand for those who may not have seen it before?

So much for competing with All Elite Wrestling on TNT. Screw it. More good wrestling on national TV is still important in its own right. There was this guy who used some condoms with his wife and lost one outside somehow. A kid picked up the banana-looking/colored one and the guy tried to take it from the kid. The guy ends up paying the kid for it and he gets the thing back. The kid goes home and his mom sees the money and asks him where he got it from. “Some guy bought a Twinkie from me that I found on his lawn…but not before I sucked the cream out.

Not so fast, Nxt. The WWE minor-league brand is (kinda-sorta) delaying its move from WWE Network to USA — or at least, the show’s second hour is.
The Wednesday, Sept. 18 and Sept. 25 episodes of “Nxt” will still start live on USA Network at 8/7c as originally planned, but will now move to WWE’s Svod service at 9/8c, where the second hour will stream live for subscribers. At the conclusion of both of those episodes, the respective second hours will immediately be made on-demand on WWE Network.
Confused? Perhaps WWE’s own art, posted above, can best summarize the new schedule.
The final two episodes of “Suits” will occupy USA’s 9 p.m. hour on Sept. 18 and 25.

Nxt has been a popular program on the WWE Network and has caught fire and bred it’s own entire universe of fans. Aimed at the more hardcore fanbase and people who follow many other promotions around the World, Nxt has become one of the most exciting and critically acclaimed products in WWE’s history, providing many fans with an old-school booking style, a greater focus on in-ring work and characters who are less produced and corny. A year after Fox set a deal to take over broadcasts of its longtime pro wrestling staple, SmackDown, USA Network has gotten back in the ring with the WWE and will air its Nxt show on Wednesday nights.
On its new network, starting September 18, Nxt will air opposite TNT’s All Elite Wrestling showcase, setting up an old-school, basic-cable battle. USA also airs Monday Night Raw, which was the venue for the initial announcement, confirmed Tuesday in an official press release.
Nxt, which started in 2010 as the pro wrestling leader’s third franchise (after Raw and SmackDown) has driven 200 branded events around the world each year. Since 2015, Nxt has aired on the WWE’s subscription streaming outlet, the WWE Network, and has been the top-performing show on the service, the WWE said.

WWE’s “Nxt” series is getting a new home. The pro-wrestling promotion’s minor-league brand is jumping from streaming platform WWE Network to USA Network starting Sept. 18 at 8/7c.

The untitled Aew series will begin airing its weekly two-hour show on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 8/7c to 10/9c.

Fans of pro-wrestling, of which I am obviously one, will know all about the rising force within WWE known as Nxt. WWE’s own version of independent wrestling, Nxt provides a more realistic sports-based product with an old-school tone and a roster of guys who, much of the time, have made waves across the indie circuit all over the world. There are some homegrown talent there too, some folks from amateur wrestling, some guys who come from other backgrounds in sports and elsewhere. It’s a real melting pot of talent. If you take a look at WWE’s main shows now, Raw and SmackDown, you’ll find that most of the talent on those programs have come up through the Nxt brand. It began as a development system, but has become its own monster, a highly successful and critically beloved monster that only seems to get better and better as the weeks,...

Welcome to this edition of The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have me returning to this after a few hectic weeks of extra shows to cover. We’ve got lots to cover, so let’s do so.
Best Promo:
It Was Me, Kofi (WWE) – In one of the best things to ever happen to Randy Orton’s career, a vignette aired showing why Randy Orton repressed Kofi Kingston’s ascension to becoming a world champion. Trust me when I say this was a major moment for Randy, as he finally looked like the star he was always meant to be.
Best Moment:
Dr. Wagner Jr. Retires (Aaa) – One of the great wrestlers had their final match at TripleMania. Goodbye Dr. Wagner Jr. and I hope you enjoy your retirement.
Best Move:
Stunner (WWE) – Kevin Owens has really made the Stunner his...

Welcome to this review of Nxt: Takeover – Toronto 2, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and there’s a bunch of matches here, so don’t you bugger off yet pilgrim. Oprah might even show up to give y’all a brand new submariiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine! All right, let’s get to it and see how this whole thing turned out.
Match #1: The Street Profits def. The Undisputed Era – Nxt Tag Team Championship Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Six was ready for a party, red cups in hand as Nxt TakeOver: Toronto 2019 kicked off with the arrival of Nxt Tag Team Champions The Street Profits. Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford leapt into the Nxt Universe to indulge a little themselves, but the party would have to be put on hold for a little bit, as The Undisputed Era’s Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish arrived, looking to...

Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this brand still can’t afford a vowel, which makes Wheel Of Fortune a bad move for any-one on this roster. Okay, we’ve got a cool main event on this show, so don’t forget to bring a towel.
Match #1: Tyler Breeze def. Jaxson Ryker The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Prince Pretty claimed victory over The Forgotten Sons’ Jaxson Ryker, dealing the Sons’ muscle-packed punisher his first loss on Nxt TV. Although Breeze endured an intense beating during the contest, he stayed patient and found enough of an opening to wrangle Ryker into a pinning predicament for the three-count.
My Opinion: 2 out of 5 – These didn’t do any-thing bad, but the match was just a few steps below what these guys are capable of. I’d love to see these...
