Both her photography and design has been featured at the Queens Museum, Columbia University, Georgetown University, St. Ann's Warehouse, the Hewitt Gallery of Art, and the George Billis Gallery in New York.
Designed a new public park as part of the New York State Pavilion New Ideas Competition, for which she was named Queens borough winner.
Minored in Photography and Costume Design.
Her Dutch roots derive from the famous "Van Alen's," which includes: William Van Alen (architect of the Chrysler Building), James Van Allen (Van Allen radiation belts), and Jimmy Van Alen (founder of the International Tennis Hall of Fame).
