Margherita Peluso(I)

Margherita Peluso is a performance artist and an international author. Works in between Italy, Australia and United States. Margherita's work is based on anthropological field research. In 2002 she attended Jacques Lecoq international academy, studying with master Kuniaki Ida. Afterwards, she continued her training with Emma Dante and Mamadou Dioum (Peter Brook's student). In 2010, in Los Angeles, Margherita studied with Gloria Gifford, and two years later she became a member of "Make a Scene" (an Australia based theatre education company ) and Fay Simpson's "Lucid Body Institute" (acting school in New York).
Since 2011 Margherita has had a permanent role at Mama Theatre in Australia and New York; among her most acclaimed performances are the adaptation of "La Medea" and the solo show "Lo Stupro" by Franca Rame, a performance on violence against women, which made her famous with the general public.
In 2015 she moved to New York, where she worked for over two years with the playwright Mario Fratti, where she received an invitation for New York's Lower East Side Festival of the Arts with Mario Fratti's solo show "L'Ungherese". In 2018, she was invited to be part of the jury for the prestigious International Filmmaker Festival award in New York.
She is working as author and performer for the project "Io, Marta", a short Documentary based on a Muse from the 1900's, which made its debut at the National Pirandello Festival, and has been a guest of the program "Next Generation" at La Mama Umbria International, in Spoleto.
