Scott Allen Pickford
- Editor
- Camera and Electrical Department
- Director
Pickford was born in a Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. He entered the film industry in late September of 2011 at the Traverse Bay Area Career Tech Center in Traverse City, MI; joining the Film & New Media program after switching from the Visual Imaging Tech program. Since a young age, Pickford always had an eye for a art, he drew, painted, sculpted, and built models throughout his youth; but is now an artist of many forms, including: film making, composing scores, and taking still photos on his free time.
Pickford began writing his first script on October 22, 2009 (4 days after his 15th birthday) for fun, after having interest which was inspired by friend, David Michael Johnson ("When does Love begin?" (2015) / Electrician/Grip & Sound Mixer). They went to the same Church where they began talking about movies: which ones were good, which ones were bad, etc. Johnson told Pickford if he ever wrote a script, he'd be more than happy to read and critique it. Pickford's first script from 2009 -- as of August 8, 2016 -- is in the process of being revised.
After making his first real short, "We're On Our W", in 2013 and sending it to the Detroit Institute of Arts for the D.A.F.T. Film Festival of 2013 which lead the film to win an Excellence Award, encouraged and enlightened Pickford's path toward making films.
Pickford attended Northwestern Michigan College for his general education for a year, then transferred to Grand Valley State University to attend the Film Program. He would have attended Ferris State University, but decided to switch.
