- Born in Alaska, Kat Smith is from the Eagle clan of the Tsimshian tribe. She grew up in the Seattle area, spending her summers in her family's hometown, a fishing village called Metlakatla. She began theater in 1998, and over the years has trained in various disciplines of acting from training in Stanislavski to studying with Anthony Meindl in one of his final intro classes at his school.
She attained her Bachelor degree in Theater and Drama Arts with a minor in Psychology from Washington State University.
While in college, Kat starred as "The Green M&M" in her first short film titled "M&M Love". She began theater in 1998 and over time Eagle has pursued every opportunity to expand her skills within her reach. Eagle studied Drama with Christiana Taylor while attaining her Associate of Arts from a local community college while in High School. The first person in her extended family to graduate from college, Eagle has one of the final Bachelor of Arts degrees in Theater and Drama Arts from Washington State University, with a minor in Psychology. This is where she trained in Stanislavski technique, among arena theater and theatre en masque. In 2012, she worked with Anthony Meindl in his final intro class at the Anthony Meindl's Actor Workshop. In recent years, she was a member the only Improv group called "The Nots" at James Franco's Studio 4, directed by actor Sean Whalen.
