Karen Gall is a multi-award winning professional filmmaker and creative entrepreneur with a highly successful career spanning over 15 years in the film and television industry including background qualifications with skills in post production, social media campaign, advertising, multimedia, graphic arts and website design. Working in Australian film and commercial television on internationally acclaimed productions has further enabled her to develop extensive experience worldwide working on productions @ Fox Studios Australia, US/Hawaii, UK, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. This track record has led to her judging as well as attending the Australian Academy of Cinema Television Arts (AACTA/AFI) international awards in Los Angeles as a grand craft juror, in addition to working on the Hawaiian International Film Festival.
In the United States she won 'Best Feature Documentary' in the Hollywood Boulevard Film Festival, being officially selected for screenings in the International Film Competition Festival (IFCOM), NewFilmmakers NY and Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema in California with following category nominations: Best Documentary, Best Director, Independent Spirit award, Mary Austin Excellence awards for Directing, Producing & Editing - also winning a Spotlight Documentary award, MUSE Creative award, Global Accolade, Impact Docs, IndieFEST and Best Shorts for Documentary Short, Women Filmmakers, Contemporary Issues / Awareness Raising, Use of Film / Video for Social Change, Content / Message Delivery, Religion / Ethics. Additionally, she was recently nominated for an AACTA/AFI (Australian Film Institute) award, Walkley award, Australian of the Year, Telstra Business Women's awards, UN Media Peace and World Humanitarian awards.
Passions outside work include creating music plus contributing towards philanthropic causes.
