I've lost count of how many times I've watched something wacky or frustrating unfold in "Stranger Things" and asked myself, "Why?" Over the past six years, the writers' room for the massively popular Netflix series has made decisions that are alternately exhilarating, awesome, and unfathomable. The show has soaring high points, but also some repetitive bits, and a few truly head-scratching narrative decisions. So it should come as no surprise that the choices they've left on the cutting room floor are often just as mind-boggling as the ones that were left in for the final cut.
The "Stranger Things" writers confirmed as much today with tweets that revealed two alternate plotlines for the show's second season, both of which involved core characters murdering their loved ones. The writers' room's official Twitter first shared that "a possessed Will was going to kill Bob," before admitting to an even more shocking plot twist.

[Editor’s Note: The following story contains spoilers for “Stranger Things 4.”]
“Stranger Things 4” treads a whole lot of water before showing its hand at the end of Episode 7 — but what a hand it is.
Like most television shows, “Stranger Things” uses its episodic structure to follow multiple parallel storylines. One follows Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), one follows the Upside Down, and there may be others, all destined to converge roughly around the finale when El can save the world. Waiting for everything to come together can be excruciating as the hours pass.
Next time will be different.
There are technically only two episodes left of “Stranger Things 4,” but for the first time ever, fans will have to wait over a month to watch the season conclude — and they now know the villain’s true identity and motive as those final hours approach.

This Devs review contains spoilers.
Devs Episode 3
We may not yet know all of what is happening behind the scenes of Devs, but at the start of the third episode a stern Katie outlines two strict rules: “We don’t look forward, we only look back. We don’t invade privacy.” The latter seems to set Amaya apart from other tech companies, ethical enough to not use their powers to invade private citizens’ lives. But the former… implies that that power is terrifying.
The fact that this conversation takes place because Katie caught Stewart and Lyndon watching Marilyn Monroe have sex with Arthur Miller distracts from the machine’s great and terrible potential. Instead, theirs is a specific, even cheeky conversation about a particular moment in time—Katie rolling her eyes at the machine as excuse for homemade porn, and Stewart defending that two humans having sex (even if they...

Linnea Berthelsen probably looks familiar because you’ve been watching Netflix and managed to catch Stranger Things. Other than that though she’s been on a fair roll with her career and has managed to do pretty well so far. Plus she’s not such a total newbie that she feels the need to compete with anyone since she’s been doing this for a while and has managed to mature while on the set and off of it. Her acting might not not be the stuff of awards quite yet but it’s nowhere near the bottom of the barrel either since she’s managed

“Stranger Things” was a breakout hit when it premiered in the summer of 2016 on Netflix, so much so that it was remembered by Emmy voters a year later with 18 nominations, including Best Drama Series, Best Drama Supporting Actress (Millie Bobby Brown) and Best Drama Supporting Actor (David Harbour). It won five times in creative arts categories, for its main title design, main title theme music, casting, picture editing and sound editing. How will the show do in 2018?
Judging from the Emmy ballots it could receive even more nominations. It has been submitted in 21 categories whose ballots have been publicly revealed (music composition awards follow a different procedure and don’t publicize their ballots). This year’s contenders includes Brown and Harbour, who will be competing again in the supporting races, while Winona Ryder moves up to the lead contest in the hopes of her first nomination.

Last week, we got the exciting news that modern comics heroine Kamala Khan Aka Ms. Marvel will likely be joining the McU in Phase Four. Studio president Kevin Feige confirmed that there are plans to introduce the character, the first ever Muslim Marvel heroine, once Brie Larson debuts as Captain Marvel next year. That makes a lot of sense, too, as Kamala inherited her name from Carol Danvers.
Now, to celebrate the news, digital fan artist BossLogic has come up with a piece that imagines what Ms. Marvel might look like in the McU. The costume he’s gone with is very faithful to the comics and the giant fist is a nice touch to remind us of Kamala’s Inhuman shapeshifting abilities, which she often uses to change her size. BossLogic also revealed that he modeled the heroine after Stranger Things actress Linnea Berthelsen.
Check it out below:

If you’ve been following “Stranger Things,” then with each episode you expect things to indeed become stranger as the story continues, and there is no pun. The appearance of Linnea Berthelsen in the role of Eleven’s “lost sister” opened a new chapter and revealed a backstory on El that infused a little new blood into the show. The creators were successful in generating a controversial episode, but here’s something that you didn’t know about the new character. The “lost sister” was originally written as a male Matt Duffer gave us a little insight into the difficulty that he had in

Eleven’s sister may make Season 3 of “Stranger Things” a sibling affair. In particular, brothers Matt and Ross Duffer revealed that Kali (Linnea Berthelsen) will most likely return for Season 3. “It would feel weird that we would’n’t resolve that storyline,” said Matt Duffer. “Chances are high that she comes back.”
Ross Duffer added, “We’re in very early days of Season 3… That’s not an official announcement.”
In the second season, “Chapter 7: The Lost Sister” was one of the most divisive episodes among fans and critics alike because it was a standalone adventure that took place outside of the action of Hawkins, Indiana. Even IndieWire’s...

The creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer brothers, recently opened up to Vulture about that Stephen King reference featured in the third episode titled "Chapter Three: The Pollywog" when Bob Newby (Sean Astin) gives Will (Noah Schnapp) what turns out to be some not so great advice, but it sounds awfully familiar. Fans recently pointed it out, but now the creators of the show are opening up about it.
In the scene, Bob recalls a recurring nightmare he experienced as a child in which he was terrorized by a clown named Mr. Baldo. He even goes as far as impersonating the Clown from his nightmares which ends up sounding a lot like an impression of Tim Curry’s iconic take on Pennywise the Clown from Stephen King’s It.

If the first season of “Stranger Things” wore its influences on its sleeve, “Stranger Things 2” puts them on like a suit, making no apologies for acknowledging its forebears. However, not everything about the series is informed by the ’80s, as the Duffer Brothers reveal how one very contemporary superhero movie inspired a scene in the debut second season episode, “Madmax.”
The episode opens on 008 aka Kali (Linnea Berthelsen) rolling around Pittsburgh with her punk friends, until a violent act leads to a pursuit by the cops.

Stranger Things Season 2 was freakin' fantastic! I enjoyed it just as much as I enjoyed the first season. I have no complaints about the season, but some fans weren't very happy with episode 7 and a lot of fans came out to criticise it.
If you haven't watched Episode 7 yet, I suggest you don't don't read ahead. Series creators Ross and Matt Duffer explain why they included the episode and they defend it.
The seventh episode focuses on Eleven's (Millie Bobby Brown) journey as she reunites with her "sister" Kali (Linnea Berthelsen), who was also a child victim of the dark experimentation by the group of scientist and staff as Hawkins Laboratory. The segment introduced us to a few new characters as they take Eleven down a different darker path of revenge.
I actually liked the episode and saw it as a way to set up a new story that opened up the world beyond Hawkins.

“Stranger Things 2” is nine episodes long, and one stands out from the rest: For reasons good and bad, the seventh entry in Season 2 has already sparked a lively online debate.
Opening with Eleven (a.k.a Jane) visiting her mother in Indiana, the young telekinetic quickly learns the identity and whereabouts of Eight (a.k.a. Kali), her fellow cellmate (of sorts) at Hawkins Lab who’s now living in Chicago. Viewers first saw Eight at the very beginning of the season as she and her motley crew fled from the cops, with Eight using her powers to help them escape.

[Editor’s Note: The following article contains spoilers for the ending of “Stranger Things 2,” also known by traditional TV fans as “Stranger Things” Season 2.]
Well, that was a neat and tidy ending.
After bringing in more characters, building more stories, and digging deeper than ever into the mythology of the Upside-Down, “Stranger Things 2” ended rather simply: Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) closed the gate, cutting off the Shadow Monster’s access to the real world and killing all the demodogs in the process. No one hugely significant died (sorry Bob), good triumphed over evil, and all looks quiet headed into Season 3.
Not quite.
Though technically all of that is true and the second season of “Stranger Things” ended on less of a cliffhanger than the first, its cliffhanger was bigger.

As they are talking Mike sees something outside of his window.
We know that Eleven manages to escape from the Upside Down back into the real world, and her escape was highlighted in a previously released clip. It looks like this latest clip teases her reunion with Mike.

Netflix has released the first clip from Stranger Things Season 2! It centers on Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) finding her way out of the Upside Down. There's no doubt that it's going to be good for her to be out of that dark and dank evil place. I imagine that she's going to want to race to get back to her friends.

Darkness is falling across the land and the midnight hour is close at hand, which must mean it’s nearly time for the much-anticipated second season of Netflix’s smash hit horror series, Stranger Things. With the upcoming run due to arrive on the streaming service this month, a new clip has surfaced that reveals what’s to befall Hawkins come Halloween.
Despite getting rid of the so-called Demogorgon and restoring peace and balance to the eerie town – at the expense of Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven…for now – Stranger Things season 2 will unleash a whole new wave of nasties, including a tendrilled sky-monster (Shadow Monster), upon the hapless folks of Indiana. That “singular threat” is spreading, it seems, so expect the show’s second season to boast a bigger sense of scale and scope than its precursor.
Don’t expect to find any of that teased up in the clip above,...

Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer have previously stated that the hit Netflix series would only go to season four and then end. Well, it's looking like plans have changed. The Duffers and producer Shawn Levy are now saying that the series will likely go beyond four seasons, Levy recently told EW:
“Hearts were heard breaking in Netflix headquarters when the Brothers made four seasons sound like an official end, and I was suddenly getting phone calls from our actors’ agents. The truth is we’re definitely going four seasons and there’s very much the possibility of a fifth. Beyond that, it becomes I think very unlikely.”
Look, as long as they have an end game and they get to tell the full story that they set out to tell, that's all that matters. I just don't want to see a bunch of pointless filler episodes in the process.

Young Will Byers opens the door to another dimension in the latest, downright creepy poster for Stranger Things season 2.
Unveiled via Twitter, below you’ll see the haunted Will (Noah Schnapp) essentially staring into the abyss, as that tentacled sky-demon looms overhead. Dubbed the Shadow Monster (Thessalhydra?) by series creators and showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer, this is another sure-fire sign that the youngest Byers will be suffering a potent case of Ptsd come October. And if you had spent days wasting away in the Upside-Down, wouldn’t you?
Yes, the Demogorgon may have been reduced to ashes – at the expense of Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven, it seems – but the Duffers have vowed to unleash a horde of new monsters in Stranger Things season 2. And judging by this all-new poster, it would seem Will Byers has become something of a walking conduit of the Upside-Down, given his dreams are plagued with blood-red,...

With Stranger Things season 2 getting ready to air on October the 27th, right before Halloween, it seems appropriate that its trailer not only include plenty of horrific images of the Upside Down but also feature the chilling voiceover of late, great king of horror, Vincent Price, straight out of Michael Jackson’s Halloween favorite, Thriller. With plenty of 80s nostalgia and hints at answers to long-held questions, the Stranger Things season 2 trailer, which you can view here, has plenty to analyze. Stranger Things Season 2 has wrapped production and I couldn't be more excited to see where the story goes and leads the characters. Since the series is set in the 80s, you can bet that it's going to be packed full of more nostalgic 80s references. We've already seen our favorite characters all decked out in Ghostbusters costumes for Halloween.
We also know that there are going to be some new characters introduced this season and that the story will mostly revolve around Will Beyers and what he's going through since being rescued from the Upside Down. When it comes to television, few shows dominated 2016 as much as Netflix’s Stranger Things did. Aside from just being very well made and executed, it introduced the world to a bunch of young actors who proved to be incredibly enjoyable to watch, and kept viewers hooked with some truly thrilling twists and turns that had everyone talking. It was a wild ride the whole way through, that’s for sure, but it did leave us with a ton of questions and unfortunately, we won’t be getting any answers for quite some time.
That’s because the show won’t return for season 2 until October, and with security being amped up to prevent plot leaks, those hoping to find out some of the secrets in advance might be left disappointed. However, that doesn’t mean we won’t get a few goodies along the way, and one such thing...

“The Demogorgon was destroyed but evil wasn’t.” That’s Shawn Levy, executive producer on Stranger Things, who warned EW late last week that while Eleven and the gang brought peace (and Will Byers!) back to Hawkins in 2016, the second season of Netflix’s über-popular original series will introduce a whole new form of horror.
Pegged to arrive in October, Netflix has now offered up our first look at Stranger Things season 2 in motion, which aired during Super Bowl Li. It’s an event often reserved for Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters, and already tonight we’ve locked eyes on stingers for Transformers: The Last Knight, Ghost in the Shell and The Fate of the Furious. But Stranger Things isn’t your average TV series, and buoyed by the show’s overwhelmingly positive reception last summer, it’s little wonder that the Powers That Be have drafted up early plans for a potential third season.

Who could possibly forget about the kids of Hawkins, Indiana?!
In an epic new mashup video, the cast of Stranger Things — including the Demogorgon — sing the hit ’80s song “Don’t You Forget About Me” and it’s glorious.
The music video features footage from the Netflix drama’s first season mashed together perfectly with the words to Simple Minds’ 1980s classic — time well spent.
The cast is currently filming season 2 of the Duffer Brothers’ hit series which will feature a batch of fresh new faces, ’80s icon Sean Astin, former Mad About You‘s star Paul Reiser, and actress Linnea Berthelsen.
