Zayn Malik was only a teenager when One Direction skyrocketed to fame, and now, six years later, he’s reflecting on an unexpected life as one of music’s biggest stars.
Malik’s upcoming eponymous autobiography will encompass his journey from The X Factor to “Pillowtalk.”
“When I was still in One Direction, fans would write stories based on me and the other lads and publish them online,” Malik writes in an excerpt from Zayn on Wattpad. “It’s crazy to think that we inspired so many different stories and the opportunity for so much creativity from so many people all over the world.

Former X Factor finalist Bupsi was sad to see Alien Uncovered go, describing them as "the new Spice Girls but even fiercer".
The 37-year-old from Leeds - who was the first act to exit the live shows followed by Alien Uncovered - told Digital Spy: "Kiera [Weathers] is a sweet girl we did have that bond.
"[But] Alien Uncovered were fierce, they were like the new Spice girls but even fiercer."
Alien Uncovered and Kiera Weathers found themselves in the bottom two on the ITV show last night, with the girl group being sent home by the judges after a sing-off.
On Monica Michael returning as mentor Rita Ora's Wildcard, Bupsi opined: "You know her story now and I think she's fighter. I can kind of relate to Monica because she's a strong girl and she's got a story.
"She put her heart on the line so I think she deserved another shot.

Former X Factor finalist Bupsi has lamented her early exit on last night's show and suggested that "people were switching on for the first time because I was there, bringing something different".
The 36-year-old singer from Leeds - who was the first out of the competition, along with Alien Uncovered, in a double elimination - revealed to Digital Spy: "Nobody got it [the song], it just wasn't enough, it wasn't right - and now the people are gutted.

The 37-year-old Leeds-born singer was in Simon Cowell's Overs' category, and bowed out of the competition last night, along with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's group Alien Uncovered.
"I knew in my gut for days that I would be in the bottom two, because I knew that song was not the right song," Bupsi, who sang Marvin Gaye's 'You're A Wonderful One' on Saturday night, admitted to Digital Spy.

Alien Uncovered said they couldn't have done anything else to improve their performances on this weekend's X Factor.
The girlband were sent home along with Bupsi in the first results show of the series.

Speaking on The Xtra Factor, they said: "We're very different and we knew that from the start. We wanted to show people what we're about, who Alien are, and hope people got it.
"I think we gave our best performance. We went out on the week where [the theme was] 'This is me' and for us, that was us."
Bupsi said it wasn't as much of a shock to learn she was leaving the competition as she knew the song wasn't right for her.
"I just knew it was the wrong song for me," she said, before revealing that Simon Cowell said he blamed himself for giving her the wrong song.

Simon Cowell had a bit of a memory lapse on the first X Factor results show.
Tonight, he decided to send home Alien Nation... we think he meant Alien Uncovered.
Vote! The X Factor 2015: Did the right acts go home tonight?
In fairness to Simon, the group did recently have a name change, but it was to add 'Uncovered' - which might be the same reason Nick Grimshaw keeps getting it wrong as well.

"I would not put people in boxes. For me it's about creating an artist and bringing out the best in them," Cheryl told the Daily Star Sunday.
"The thought of my groups having to sing Abba makes me want to go home and cry. I could get them to do it the best I could but I don't think we should."
But that wouldn't be the only change that Cheryl would make on the show, which hit a new series low last night (October 31) on its first live show.

The X Factor finally kicked off its live shows this weekend, and gosh, it looks like we've got a seriously strong field of acts this year. In fact, ranking them seems faintly unfair as even those lower down the league put in some fantastic performances, but we sucked it up and did it anyway:
13. Max Stone
You could have the best voice in the world, Max, and yours is very nice. But you still did a cod reggae cover of 'Someone Like You'.
12. Bupsi
Not quite 'You're A Wonderful One' this week. More of 'You're An Okay-But-We-Preferred-Pony One'.
11. Kiera Weathers
Kiera sang 'Crying For No Reason'... let's hope the voting public won't actually give her a reason to cry.
10. Reggie N Bollie
Reggie N Bollie covered 'It Wasn't Me' but if we were them we'd be taking All the credit for this super fun performance.

The X Factor hopefuls Alien Uncovered won over the judges with a rousing performance of 'Do It Like A Dude' tonight.
The group - who asked to do the song over mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's choice 'Hollaback Girl' - won a standing ovation from their judge after a spectacular performance.
But one person wasn't happy: Simon Cowell.
"This is so annoying... because that was so good," he joked. "Everything about that was great. If I'm looking into the future what the next big band could be, it could be you. But you've got a lot of competition, the song isn't going to appeal to everybody... In terms of the work, the commitment, everything you put into it, that was outstanding."
Nick Grimshaw added that Alien Uncovered made him love the song all over again ("I kind of want to leave and go dancing"), while Rita Ora said the group represented themselves well.

The X Factor kicks off its live shows this weekend, but do you know what it's missing? 2 Shoes. Ever since the Essex duo burst onto our screens back in 2011 they've held a special place in our hearts, so we decided that the best thing to do would be to get their verdict on this year's acts (minus late addition and wildcard Monica Michael).
Alright, so the pair (also known as Lucy Texeira and Charley Bird) squealed "love them!" about literally every single hopeful on the show - they're basically Brucie going "you're my favourite". But they also had plenty to say about who could be first out, who could win, who could be a third Shoe and much more:

Charley: "Oh, they're so cute."
Lucy: "Are they all sisters? See, I think that's great. And their harmonies are really tight. And you can tell because they are sisters,...

She's back! Monica Michael was snapped in rehearsals for The X Factor yesterday after becoming the show's Wildcard this series.
Michael - who was originally sent home after Judges' Houses - was seen performing her rendition of Ed Sheeran's 'Make It Rain'. Oh, and she had time for a hug with mentor Rita Ora, too.
Rita was really dishing out the hugs, as she was also spotted embracing Louisa Johnson - who'll take on 'God Only Knows' as part of this weekend's 'This Is Me' theme.
Elsewhere, she could be seen giving Kiera Weathers a pep talk ahead of her performance of Katy B's 'Crying For No Reason'.
But there was also time for a giggle and some dance practice with Lauren Murray, whose dream of performing a Whitney track on the show will become reality this weekend when she tackles the legend's version of 'I'm Every Woman'.

The X Factor has had a lot of changes this year - and it looked we might have discovered another one.
There we were just looking at pictures of the acts in rehearsals when we spotted something very interesting indeed behind Alien Uncovered.
On the big screen behind them were the words "vocal score" and "performance score", so was that confirmation that we will indeed be seeing scoring on the show this weekend?
After all, there have been rumours that the judges will be wielding Strictly-style judging paddles in a new twist to The X Factor, so is that what this is about?
That didn't mean the scoring would actually be used - after all, reported plans for a fifth judge have apparently been dropped - but it looked like it was at least an option.
But then an X Factor source told Digital Spy that the graphics were old...

Jesy will get the opportunity to do so when Little Mix return to The X Factor on Sunday's results show to perform their new single 'Love Me Like You'.

Panic over - X Factor's Caroline Flack Will be returning to host The X Factor this weekend.
The 35-year-old - who co-hosts the ITV talent show with Olly Murs - shared an image of herself in bed and looking under the weather on Instagram earlier this week, which prompted speculation she may be too poorly to present the first round of live shows.
But an X Factor spokesperson has since informed Digital Spy: "She is doing the show this weekend."
Little Mix have also confirmed that they will be taking to the stage on Sunday night's X Factor to perform their new single 'Love Me Like You'.
And the group promised there will be some surprises in store for fans during their appearance.
Last year's X Factor winner Ben Haenow will appear on Saturday night to perform his single 'Second Hand Heart', while runner-up Fleur East will showcase 'Sax'...

X Factor's Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has admitted she prefers the new live Judges' Houses format - because it's far "less personal".
The 32-year-old judge - who put through Reggie n Bollie, 4th Impact and Alien Uncovered as her final three acts - told Digital Spy: "I think I would like to do the live Judges' Houses again.
"[It's] less personal - sat on the couch looking into someone's eyes telling them I'm not going to put them through is just a horrible feeling. [Although live Judges' Houses] is still an awful feeling.
"It's probably due to the fact that obviously with the groups, it was more than one person I had to address as well. I've only had Girls or Boys before."
On her final three acts in her Groups category, she declared: "I'm 100% happy with my groups. No regrets. You can't have regrets - no disrespect to the other three I didn't put through,...

The X Factor is well and truly under way, and we've been keeping an eye on everything that's been going on...
When is The X Factor on TV?
The show kicked off on August 29 - and in fact, in an attempt to avoid any clashes with Strictly Come Dancing, ITV bosses have unveiled the full schedule right from the off, so we know everything that's coming. You can get a proper look at it here, but auditions continued until Saturday, September 19 with Boot Camp kicking off on September 20. That was the first of five boot camp shows - two set in a country house, and then three episodes of the dreaded Six Chair Challenge. They were all on Sundays, to avoid the Rugby World Cup, but then Judges' Houses aired on October 24 and October 25... and the first big live show will kick off on October 31. And the grand final? Tonight saw our first trip to the Judges' Houses in The X Factor, and for the first time ever it featured a new element where the judges had to name their final three acts live. We didn't know what to expect, really, but tonight's performances proved that the judges had some tough decisions to make.

4th Impact, Alien Uncovered and Reggie n Bollie have been taken through to the Live Shows of The X Factor in Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's Groups category.
The new Judges' Houses format saw live eliminations for the first time tonight (October 24), and Cheryl dropped Melody Stone, Bekln Mile and New Kings Order.
After performing in a pre-recorded Judges' Houses in Rome, the judge took her three finalists through after appeals from the groups and other judges.
Simon Cowell made no comment, but Nick Grimshaw appealed for her to choose Reggie n Bollie and Bekln Mile, and Rita Ora went for Bekln Mile.
After choosing her three, Alien Uncovered said it was a "massive achievement", and Reggie n Bollie guaranteed they would "entertain you every weekend".

The X Factor reaches the Judges' Houses stage of the competition this weekend, and the Groups were lucky enough to head to Rome to perform for their mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and special guest judge Jess Glynne. If nothing else, it was a chance for them to get to grips with their new names:
1. 4th Impact
Formerly: 4th Power
Who are they? Mylene (23), Irene (25), Almira (27) and Celina (19) grew up singing and dancing together.

There have been some big changes on The X Factor this year - as every single one of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's Groups has a new name.
Reports had already revealed that standout group 4th Power had become 4th Impact after fears that their original name could prompt a copyright claim.
But the sisters from the Philippines aren't the only ones getting a new title, as Alien will become Alien Uncovered and Bekln are rebranding as Bekln Mile.
The X Factor quiz: 4th Power are now 4th Impact, but can you remember what Little Mix were called?
Perhaps the biggest change is for Silver Tone, who will now be known as Melody Stone, while The First Kings have been renamed New Kings Order.
Finally, the exuberant duo Menn On Point will now go by their first names, becoming simply Reggie n Bollie.

The X Factor's Alien Uncovered have dismissed suggestions that they're "raunchy".
The group - formerly known as Alien - will battle it out at Judges' Houses with the rest of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's Groups in an attempt to make it into the live shows.
And they have now revealed that they want to "stand out" in their own way.
"We've been described as raunchy, but to us we're just confident, and also vibrant and fun," Alien Uncovered said.
The six-piece added that they feel the "message" of their band sets them apart from other acts, saying: "We are really strong on female empowerment and diversity, and encouraging people to be themselves. Whatever we do, we bring an Alien touch to it."
Alien Uncovered also named their inspiration as Rihanna, saying: "She is so confident and does what she wants. She is raunchy to an extent, her message is spot...

It's probably fair that after a hellish experience at the X Factor Six Chair Challenge last year, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini had the easiest job when it came to choosing her Top 6 Groups - a few minor issues aside.
And now she's got a pretty strong category, from the gospel background of Silver Tone and Bekln to the pure pop of 4th Power and The First Kings and two unusual acts in Alien and Menn On Point.
But which group is your favourite? Who are you backing as they all head to Judges' Houses? And who do you want to see on the live shows each week? We want to know, so vote in our poll and leave your comments below to let us know everything you're thinking:

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini seemed very happy on The X Factor tonight after choosing her final six groups. She's certainly got a lot of variety with her acts, but who made it through?
1. 4th Power
Who? Mylene, Celina, Irene and Almira Cercado (19-27)
Remind me: These sisters from the Philippines blew everyone away with their outstanding performance of 'Bang Bang' in the auditions, with some insane notes and slick choreography. Sweet off stage and full of fire on it, they've been a dead cert for Judges' Houses ever since, keeping up their powerhouse performances at Boot Camp and the Six Chair Challenge. But because of copyright issues, expect them to be known from now on as 4th Impact.
2. Alien
Who? Madison Matic (19), Temple Angus (24), Shae Barry (23), Natalie Kassanga (18), Yasmin Crotch (22), Frank Arens (17)
Remind me: Alien are definitely not your typical girl band. They burst onto the auditions stage with a performance of 'Pump It',...

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini faced a tough decision this evening on The X Factor with one final swap to complete her groups category in the Six Chair Challenge.
The judge promised boy band Bekln a seat after their performance of 'See You Again' by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, Fernandez-Versini eventually deciding to drop girl group Rumour Has It.
Cowell told her beforehand to "protect the singers", with Fernandez-Versini saying that she wanted "reliability" in her category.
She then decided to swap Rumour Has It with Bekln, Cowell exclaiming "I mean seriously?"
However, Rita Ora showed approval for Fernandez-Versini's decision.
Earlier, the groups judge gave Silver Tone a seat too.
The final line up in the groups category is Menn On Point, Alien, Bekln, 4th Power, Silver Tone and The First Kings.
The X Factor is showing on ITV now.

After three weeks of chair-swapping drama, the Six Chair Challenge finally concludes this evening. All that's left is for Cheryl to finish choosing her groups and then for Simon to tackle the Overs category.
Throughout the competition Simon has been less than enthusiastic about mentoring the Overs, and according to what we've heard, he's still pretty grumpy this evening. So we're sure that all the chair-swapping's going to be as brutal as ever.

The X Factor Six Chair Challenge carried on apace tonight, with Cheryl starting to whittle down her groups. We only got to see seven of them, but if you want to relive all the action, here are all the videos you need - ranked from worst to best:
7. Decibellas
The only Group tonight not to get a seat. Sorry, girls.
6. Mon Amie
All we can think about is series seven's Belle Amie.
5. Menn On Point
Weirdly brilliant, but also kind of terrible. We're confused.
4. Rumour Has It
Mainly for the bit in 'Hold Back The River' where they shouted: "Stop" and did a dramatic pause.
3. The First Kings
The First Kings grabbed The Sixth Seat - and well deserved it was too.
2. Alien
Any performance that ends with the splits is a winner in our eyes.
1. 4th Power
Go 4th and prosper.

12. Gifty Louise

"I'm so sorry." Not what you want to hear an act say after performing.
9. Silver Tone
"Their audition was the same colour as their coats: beige."
8. Chloe Paige
"I would make her ill every day." Believe it or not, this was a compliment.
7. The First Kings

6. Kiera Weathers
Simon Cowell said he didn't like her voice: not a great start.
5. Charli Beard

Grab a cup of tea (or a bottle of wine, a beer and a few double voddies if you feel like emulating some of the more dramatic contestants), read up on some backstage gossip and secrets from filming and join us live from 7pm as we bring you all the action as it happens.
20:59And so that's the episode over! There were ups, there were downs, there were tantrums, there were a Lot of missed lyrics. Judging from next week's preview it looks like we are set for even more drama - join us from Sunday, September 27 at 7pm and we'll be liveblogging it all!
