- He won the Golden Boot for top scorer at the 2018 FIFA World Cup with six goals. All six goals were scored in England's first four games. He was the second England footballer to win the Golden Boot after Gary Lineker, who also scored six goals in the 1986 World Cup.
- He was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2019 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to Football. He is the Captain of the England Football Team in London, England.
