CAA has signed Margaret Zhang for representation as an emerging filmmaker, writer and producer.
The new alliance marks the next step for Zhang, who officially departs her role as editor-in-chief of Vogue China at the end of May.
“I am immensely proud of the radical evolution that we have driven at Vogue China over the past three years, expanding its impact from its print beginnings to becoming a multimedia bridge for creative culture – China to the world, the world to China,” Zhang wrote in a memo announcing her exit, which was announced on Friday.

The Chinese city that is home to the world’s largest film studio has released lists of its top registered taxpayers in 2018, revealing the payments by major production companies and movie stars at a time when new tax regulations have upended the industry.
In years past, the small city of Dongyang in coastal Zhejiang province attracted big entertainment companies to Hengdian, a town under its jurisdiction, with preferential tax benefits and the massive Hengdian World Studios complex. Without much competition, Warner Bros’ action adventure Rampage retained the No.1 crown for the second week with $53.7m, taking up more than half of the week’s total box office.
With a 10-day total of $112m, it has surpassed Black Panther to become the third highest grossing non-Chinese film this year, after Ready Player One and Secret Superstar. It is also the highest grossing film for Dwayne...
