- Composer
- Writer
- Camera and Electrical Department
Keaton Bicknell was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 19, 1997 to father Stuart, an electrician in the motion picture and television business, and mother Pam, a medical professional. At age two, Bicknell was diagnosed as being "moderately to severely autistic"; at that point in time, he could not speak, read, write, or even operate a computer. Flash forward eighteen years later, and Mr. Bicknell has been able to do all that -- and then some.
From ages 11 to 18, he wrote, edited, composed, and directed "The Adventures of Pelican Pete: A Bird Is Born," based on the children's book series by Hugh & Frances Keiser. A labor of love that took him six years to make -- and a collaboration with animator/autism advocate Dani Bowman -- it took home the Hometown Award at the World Arts Film Festival in Jacksonville, Florida, in addition to garnering Best Animation nominations at the Rendezvous International Film Festival (Amelia Island, Florida) and the EyeCather Int'l Film Festival (McAlester, Oklahoma).
The film also has the honor of premiering twice at the San Diego International Comic-Con; first in 2015 and then in 2016.
In addition to that, Bicknell has also produced the short film "The Wails," directed by Connor Dunwoodie, which chronicles a young girl who enlists the help of an ex-boyfriend to ward off a mysterious demonic creature.
