- Ron Scott was hired by Capitol Records to do publicity for Eric Carman and The Raspberries, (1972), Rick Springfield, (1972), Blue Swede, (1973-1975) and Ringo Starr's "Good Night Vienna," album (1974). The following year, He was engaged to handle the press for hot new soap star, David Hasselhoff on "The Young & The Restless," a relationship which carried forward all the way to the end of the first season of "Knight Rider." He also represented Jeanne Cooper, the celebrated soap Diva of "The Young & The Restless," for 2 years. From 1976-1981, he did press for Richard Dean Anderson who was riding high on "General Hospital." Ron also did press for Mindy Cohn during her "Facts of Life," run from 1979-1988. When John Stamos landed the role of Blackie Parrish in "General Hospital," Ron literally launched his career which took off fast. In 1989 he began handling press for Mario Lopez, then starring in "Saved By the Bell." In 1987, executive producer Bill Bell brought Ron on board to launch the U.S. and International press for his new soap, "The Bold & The Beautiful." Ron handled all 30 actors on the soap and helped the show become the success it is today. During his 35 years as a publicist and owner of his own company, Hollywood Entertainment PR, he has also handled Joan Collins, (during the height of her "Dynasty" success) and Jason Bateman when he was starring in "Silver Spoons." (1982-1986). At one time or another he has handled 75% of soap performers on West Coast daytime dramas.
