Michael A. Blank is an American actor born and raised in the Midwest. He attended Butler University on an Army ROTC scholarship and has a bachelor's and master's degree in business administration. He competed in Intercollegiate Cross Country. After fulfilling his three-year active Army obligation, he began a 24-year career with a major pharmaceutical company working in sales and sales management throughout the United States: retiring in 2012. While working in the corporate sector Michael continued to serve in the Army Reserves. In 2006 with 25 years of total service, He retired from the Army at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He is an Iraq Campaign Veteran. With the encouragement of his wife Sheley, he took a great leap of faith and stepped far outside of his comfort zone. In his early fifties, Michael started to pursue something different, acting. Seven years later, Mike told everyone that assisted and mentored him, being an actor was the experience of a lifetime. A chance to do and see things others only dream of. The journey would not have been possible without the mentoring of Peggy Sheffield (The greatest acting coach since Lee Strasberg), and the wonderful agent Katie Roland. Last and not least, the World's Best Wife Sheley who when Mike asked, "What would you say if I wanted to be an actor?" did not fall on the floor and burst into uncontrolled laughter. Driving home from spending a week on an Apple + set as a featured extra, he came to understand the journey had run its course. Having been a professional working actor since 2016, reality set in. He will always be on the acting "D" list for work and wages. Instead of foolishly dreaming of being an A list actor with fame and fortune, Mike chooses to be so grateful that his third career progressed farther than 90% of the actors who ever tried their hand in this business. He found a great niche in non-union commercial work. Mike appeared in over fifty print, commercial, and infomercial ads (listed under "Other Works" on this IMDB page) He routinely booked seven to eight paid commercial gigs annually over his seven-year career. Those ads were local, regional, and national. A substantial number of his infomercials were dubbed into other languages, and were shown in Europe, Central, and South America. He was featured prominently in training videos geared towards pharmaceutical sales forces. Mike considers his seven years in the business to be the highlight of his professional career. In 2023, after far exceeding all of his acting goals, it was time to turn the page and set sail for career number four with destinations still unknown...
