Nic Learmonth works in art department.
Before being drawn into filmmaking, Nic worked as a writer and editor for climbing and mountain biking magazines and websites in New Zealand and Australia. Always up for an adventure, Nic wound up on a couple of short mountain bike film shoots, where she discovered a whole new world of story-telling.
Talking about her work as Art Director for _April Phillips (I)_'s short film REM (2016), Nic says:
'I am an absolute convert to art department!
'As art director I get to help the director convey characters, backstory and subtleties of plot and theme, I get to support actors in their performances, and I get to help the DOP feed that ever-hungry lens! It's a pretty sweet deal!'
