Shortly afterwards Skylar created a 4 minute short film called "The Final Shootout" the short was met with very positive responses in particular regarding the entertaining and highly energetic cinematography involving the two car chases. with the Skylar's most recent outing came in the form of a horror short drama called "The Crooked Man" serving as Skylar's first live action short film, he plays a down-on-his-luck drunk named David Hoover. The film was met with positive responses, many people praised the film for it's excellent special effects, storytelling and character development, it was criticized however for the uneven awkward pacing, and uneven cinematography, but overall was considered Skylar's best work to date due to the underlying message of the film, the darker more serious tone it took compared to his previous work and the bravery of having a melancholic ending. Skylar worked on the sequel to "A Man Named Franklin" called "A Man Named Franklin 2: The Guilt", the film takes on a much darker more serious tone than the original, upping violence and the profanity, and being feature length making it Skylar's first ever feature length film, he also worked in the original's plot to make it flow more smoothly allowing it to remedy the mistakes made with the first film, including the abrupt ending. Skylar also has begun production on a remake for the first A Man Named Franklin to give the original film a better flow, altered ending, better cinematography.
