Los Angeles and New York // July 12, 2019 – Cinedigm has announced it will release Jason Mewes’ meta comedy Madness In The Method in select theaters and on demand beginning August 2, 2019, with a DVD and Blu-ray release planned for fall. Fans attending San Diego Comic Con can get a sneak peek at the film on July 18 at the Tcl Chinese Theatre at Theatre Box, with Jason Mewes in attendance for a Q&a.

Jason Mewes stars as himself in feature directorial debut Madness in the Method, depicting his struggle to be taken seriously in Hollywood.
Madness in the Method brandishes a title that, in reversing a famous idiom, reveals the 180 turn of its star and director, Jason Mewes, who’s using the film as a statement to prove to audiences that he’s more than just a snoochie-boochie-smoking loiterer of convenience stores and malls.
Indeed, the film shows Mewes expanding his (perceived as limited) performance boundaries by – ironically enough – playing, well, himself in the meta-minded character study, putting aside his oft-fielded character in Kevin Smith’s View Askewverse as Jay. However, that’s not to say that he’ll be without his repertory onscreen companion, since Smith will very much be a part of the film, joined by an intriguing array of supporting cast members, most notably the immortal Stan Lee...
