Mumbai, March 14 (Ians) Fashion designer Masaba Gupta, whose series "Masaba Masaba" would soon be out with its second season, said the concept of the show would not work on the big screen.
The Indian audience is still looking for a "larger-than-life" experience when they go to watch something in the theatre, she added.
"A show like ours will not work on the big screen. I think it suits Over-The-Top (Ott) perfectly and so do I. We are a light-hearted show and we are reaching out to people who are able to understand what we are saying. The audience comes to the cinema to see a larger-than-life commercial potboiler. But there is a space for meaningful content today thanks to Ott. Some things belong in some places," she said.

Fashion designer Masaba Gupta says she has two personalities, one where she is a social butterfly and the other when she is at ease with her mother, actress Neena Gupta.
"Masaba Gupta has two different personalities -- one in front of people, where I socialise, come across as hobnobbing, and am a social butterfly, and the other when I am at ease in my house or with my mom," Masaba said.
"I always try to maintain balance between my commercial and artistic life where I do absolutely nothing, and then I have a life full of drama, events, celebrating people and many other things. I have this Yogi life on the side. The title of the series 'Masaba Masaba' is because of my dual personality," she added.
The designer has opened up parts of her life for a fictionalised series "Masaba Masaba". In the Netflix show, Masaba and her mother Neena play their fictionalised versions.

Masaba Masaba (Netflix 6 episodes)
Starring Masaba Gupta, Neena Gupta
Directed by Sonam Nair
Promise not to take it too seriously, and Masaba Masaba, the 6-part Netflix series where Masaba and Neena Gupta play their real-life roles of daughter and mother, promises to be loads of fun.
Firstly the writing is clearly on a roll. The lines flow like champagne at one of those soirees that the characters in this series, all 237 of them, attend regularly. The people who populate Masaba’s elitish life are shamelessly uppercrust Bollywood with serious existential problems like, what do I wear for the evening’s party that I haven’t worn before?
Okay, for Masaba Gupta (played by Masaba Gupta) it gets a little more serious when her husband announces that he wants a divorce. All hell doesn’t break loose. There is so much storm before the calm in this series where everyone is running around going nowhere.
