Vishal Jejurkar, grew up in a small village near Nashik in rural Maharashtra. Despite pursuing a Medical(BAMS) degree in Pune, his true passion lay in Arts, Literature, and Films, as a result started studying filmmaking independently.
In his third year of medical school, he made his first short film, "Scratch," with the help of his medical classmates and some local kids from his village. The film got screened at film festivals like the Boston Film Festival and Flickers Roving Island Film Festival. It won four awards at eight different festivals.
After that Vishal wrote a screenplay for his second short film, "The Last Letter," which was a LGBTQ+ short film focusing on an elderly homosexual protagonist, it won the top prize in a script-writing competition in India. His upcoming short film "Veni" features National-Award winning actress Anjali Patil.
