Tokyo Ghoul creator Sui Ishida has sparked excitement among fans with his recent remarks regarding the possibility of an anime adaptation for his latest manga, Choujin X.
In a recent interview, Ishida was asked about his thoughts on the prospect of Choujin X being adapted into an anime. He responded with “I’d love to see it…“
While Ishida’s statement doesn’t confirm an official anime adaptation is in the works, it certainly suggests his openness and potential desire for the project.
Fans however, aren’t that keen on the idea of Choujin X getting an anime adaptation particularly due to their dissatisfaction with Studio Pierrot’s handling of the Tokyo Ghoul anime adaptation. They believe that for Choujin X to receive a faithful and high-quality adaptation, it would require an exceptional team and studio at the helm, given their past experiences.

It seems like the only way for Mangaka Sui Ishida, after working on his superhit manga series Tokyo Ghoul, is up and waaay above others’ expectations, considering how his most recent work is gaining the same acclamation. In fact, after Ken Kaneki’s blockbuster saga from the early 2010s, fans are all set to explore this new work of the mangaka fairly soon.
Sui Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul.
This comes after the results of the MyAnimeList poll came out for the top 20 manga series that readers most desperately wish to see adapted into animation. And surprisingly enough (or perhaps unsurprisingly?!), one of the manga series in the top 3 of this list is none other than Ishida sensei’s latest piece of masterwork winning fans over, Choujin X.

When I first listened to Tk from Ling tosite sigure , it was through Tokyo Ghoul ’s Op, “unravel.” I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that this was many anime fans’ first exposure to the singer because it’s truly iconic. You hear him sing in that high-pitched voice of his, “Oshiete yo, oshiete yo,” the instrumentals kick in, and then you get goosebumps. I’ve said this about many other anime songs, but this one ends up on my karaoke list if I’m feeling brave or want to damage my vocal cords. Tk, or Toru Kitajima, is the lead vocalist, guitarist, and singer-songwriter from the band Ling tosite sigure. He started releasing music as a soloist in 2011, and since then, he has left a major mark in the anime scene. His music style is an acquired taste for some, but for me who’s an emo at heart,...

The last decade saw anime becoming mainstream, with several popular anime reaching the heights of popularity. One of the anime present during the industry becoming mainstream was Tokyo Ghoul. Tokyo Ghoul becomes a fan-favorite anime after airing season one. The anime was adapted from Sui Ishida’s magnum opus of the same name. But it could not maintain the good name for long.
There were several problems surrounding the anime, and it failed to live up to its hype. The plot changed after a couple of seasons, but the anime failed to depict the entire story. Ken Kaneki’s journey had the fans excited in the initial stage, but it soon turned out to be disappointing. Fans believe a reboot should happen after it should follow Fullmetal Alchemist’s path.

A remake of Tokyo Ghoul anime is something that fans of the series have been clamouring for ever since Studio Pierrot dropped stinkers – the final two seasons that were overly rushed. And thanks to a new info that has surfaced online, the buzz surrounding Tokyo Ghoul anime getting the Brotherhood treatment has reached an all time high.
This buzz was fuelled by a tweet put out by Manga Mogura mentioning that a new 10th anniversary web domain was registered under the series.
While there has been no official confirmation from the studio regarding the anime project, fans are already speculating on the possibility of a Tokyo Ghoul revival anime, with many expressing their desire for a Brotherhood treatment that would faithfully adapt the source manga.
Some fans argue that a complete reboot might be too soon, considering the last anime season aired in 2018.

The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen has been an intense journey, filled with plenty of action, but above all, a lot of personal tragedy for its protagonist, Yuji Itadori. Both the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc and the Shibuya Incident arc were something we won't recover from for a while. Four years after the first live action Tokyo Ghoul film, a new story based on Sui Ishida's manga comes to screens. This time around, gastronomically restrained half-ghoul hero Ken Kaneki (Masataka Kubota) is no longer wrestling with his conscience, having found a way to live without doing harm, but risks ending up on the menu himself after attracting the attention of the vicious and charismatic Gourmet (Shota Matsuda). Meanwhile, his mentor Tôka (Maika Yamamoto) is trying to persuade him to make more use of his ghoul-based fighting skills, and their friend Shun'ya Shiraishi is caught up in a romance with a human girl (Mai Kiryû). The result is a slice of cannibal horror with a distinctly soapy aftertaste.

The second season of “Tokyo Ghoul” continues directly where the first left off (since the first ended in the middle of a battle). However, as the episodes unfold, the story strays away from the manga, and follows an original script by manga author Sui Ishida. A new trailer for the live-action Tokyo Ghoul has surfaced, and with it, more action and anguish. Overall it's a good trailer that's kinda crazy, although I question the song choice as it really doesn't sync up with what's happening on screen.
Created by Sui Ishida, “Tokyo Ghoul” follows Ken Kaneki, a timid college student whose date with longtime crush Rize Kamishiro goes horribly awry when she reveals herself to be a ghoul, a creature that feeds on human flesh. In the world of “Tokyo Ghoul,” ghouls appear outwardly human and, by day, even live normal lives and own businesses. By night, though, they hunt human beings across the streets of Tokyo.
