Nicole Alexandra Watlington-Betancourt is a sound editor and sound designer born and raised in Puerto Rico and based in New York City. In just a few years, she has amassed a vast amount of experience, working as a sound engineer in both state-of-the-art post-production studios and in her freelance business. Her collaborations with award-winning supervising sound editors and directors, whose works have been screened at festivals all over the globe, have contributed to her swift emergence as a rising talent in the audio post-production field. Her extensive credits encompass feature films, documentaries, TV shows, short films, and branding projects.
Nicole holds an MA in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, where she earned outstanding qualifications for her master's thesis on the psychology of sounds in German exile films of the 20th century. She also possesses a BA in Screen Studies from Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts at The New School in New York City, where she wrote and directed her debut short film, 'Tea Party After Hours.' In 2017, she participated in a semester abroad in the UK, affording her the opportunity to study British and European Cinema at the prestigious King's College London. Additionally, she holds a BS in Recording Arts from Full Sail University, where she was honored with the Course Director's Award for Advanced Audio Post-production.
