Dimitar Grigorov was recognized as one of best Bulgarian choral conductors still alive, as his short but extremely valuable and filled with hard work and dedication life, he showed that great art has no boundaries, and it is a wide open field for the manifestation of spirit and dedication. Dimitar Grigorov is a descendant of a family that for three generations back is closely linked to the church. His grandfather was a priest and had years of serving God in the Church of village Lomtsi, Popovo clerical district. His father Metody Grigorov had theological education and acted as a music teacher and was the best conductor in the town Sliven church. His uncle Todor Grigorov also had theological education and was a renowned name in music circles. Dimitar Grigorov took over leadership of the choir in the church "St. Sedmochislenitsi" on August 1992, and two years later he had a position of "assistant conductor," which enabled him to examine in detail the specifics in terms of church liturgies and practices. In the fall of 1992 as assistant conductor has appointed Snezhana Grigorova - student in "choral conducting" at the National Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" and his wife. They began to work with great desire and tenacity as a very good team, which was a big plus for the development of choir. The first performance is on November 21, 1993, at "Bulgaria" Hall in a concert dedicated to the Day of the Christian family. Follow - First Festival of Orthodox music in town Sliven 1994; pilgrimage to Greece in 1995. In 1996 and 1997 in Concert hall "Bulgaria" the choir presents awards Church compositions." Three audiotapes were issued within a few months. In 1998 Dimitar Grigorov was invited to Belgium by the great singer and patriotic Mrs. Maria Hristova-Klemans to push the trend of European ensemble music making in our country. This is a turning point for Dimitar Grigorov and people since the beginning of even more precise and detailed image of the beautiful sound of the composition. In May 2000, there are few concerts, performed parts of "Vigil" Opus 37 and "Liturgy" opus 31 by S. Rachmaninoff. In 2001 the choir performed in Spain many concerts with Orthodox music in the large and prestigious festivals. Follow: Belgium and the ;Netherlands, participation in Europe's most prestigious festivals of old music - "Festival Oude Muziek" in Utrecht and "Festival Van Vlaanderen-Laus Polyphoniae" in Antwerp. In May 2002 the choir is invited to the International Music Festival "Prague Spring" and in April 2002 it is a member of the 38th International Music Festival of Chamber Music in Plovdiv. Another recognition for their efforts, Dimitar Grigorov and the choir of the church "St. Sedmochislenitsi" obtained by the invitation to participate in October in the Arts Festival "Europalia 2002" under the patronage of the President of Bulgaria and the King of Belgium. An interesting point is the beginning of joint activity of the choir with Chamber Ensemble "Sofia Soloists" in the International Music Festival "Sofia Music Weeks". In July 2003 the choir is on one of the most interesting trips - England, participating in 12 of the most famous festivals of ancient, religious and sacred music in the country. In October, 2004 Grigorov's choir is in the town Bonn, Germany, as a co-exhibition of Thracian gold treasure, in Belgium, in December the same year with "Hermes ensemble" exported unique joint concert. In 1995 Dimitar Grigorov won a competition for assistant in choral conducting at the Academy of Music in Plovdiv, where he worked 11 years and trained hundreds of students in "Conducting" and "Course choir". Since 1999 he was the author and host of "Music Sacra" radio program. He died on December 11, 2006 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
