With this unusual pair going on a road trip drawing a lot of rumours and gossip, the teaser ends with a mysterious looking Mammootty lighting a cigar. Well, that makes us wonder if Uncle is a thriller. Gireesh Damodar, who had earlier worked as an associate of director Padma Kumar and Pa Ranjith, will be making his directorial debut with this flick. The technical crew of this film has Bijibal, the National Award winning musician on board composing the music and N Alagappan cranking the camera. Uncle is bankrolled by Joy and Sajay Sebastian for Abra Films International and Sj Films respectively. Scripted by Joy Mathew of Shutter fame, the film is touted to be a family entertainer with thriller elements. Karthika Muraleedharan plays the female lead in this movie. Uncle is said to be a socially relevant film. It is the story of a 17-year-old girl and her dad’s friend. Mammootty, one of the most versatile actors in the film industry, has acted in several films in various genres and languages in his long career. While he predominantly concentrated on Malayalam movies, Mammootty has carved a niche for himself in the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi film industries as well.
