Marcy Saylor (Marcy Lynn Saylor) was born on April 20th,1990 in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of music producer/studio owner, Skip Saylor and singer/songwriter/actress, Lynn Carey Saylor. Marcy, like both of her parent, naturally gravitated towards the arts at an early age. Her mother in particular, encouraged her to sing. As early as 4 years of age, Marcy began singing for church choir and by age 6, was cast as the lead in a school production who's character had 48 lines of dialogue and a solo song. From then on, Marcy was heavily involved with both Choir and Theater and eventually Orchestra starting with the violin at age 10 and later, the cello. Marcy's high school choir teacher and former Opera singer, Linda Escobar, helped Marcy reach a professional level of vocal ability. By senior year, she was recognized as the only Hagnerian Soprano on campus and received the Bank of America Achievement Award for Musical Excellence.
Marcy ventured into other forms of art like photography and graphic design when she was accepted into her high school's Academy of Art and Technology (AOAT), a program who's main focus was to assist students in finding art related careers. She gravitated to photography/Photoshop editing as well as graphic design. The specialized classes provided by the AOAT greatly influenced her to later become the filmmaker she is today.
In 2008, right after graduating, she aggressively auditioned for everything from Broadway productions to Film and TV acting roles while attending college. She worked as model, go-go dancer, photographer and movie extra. She also worked for Enjoy Your Face INC as a face painter and eventually stumbled upon a position with a children's entertainment company called Bubblemania as a performer. While painting faces and working as a bubble magician, Marcy actually changed majors in college from Graphic Design to Child Development and became a preschool teacher in her early twenties.
That same year, Marcy started what later became a decade of association with Universal Studios Hollywood by landing a scare-actor position for Halloween Horror Nights. She always loved Halloween and Horror films but her passion for all things that go bump in the night became a true love for SFX makeup. In fact, after 8 consecutive seasons of being an actor for the theme park and feeling unfulfilled as a teacher, she went back to her artistic roots and enrolled in Makeup School at Elegance International in 2015.
In 2016, she returned to Universal as a certified Makeup Artist, contracted by Bone Yard FX. From there, Marcy went on to work multiple independent films, both in the Makeup and FX Department. She started booking shoots more regularly, marketing herself as the one stop shop, offering package deals on makeup photography and editing which led her to editing full length films as of 2018
