Waiting For The Sea The Calvert Journal Film Festival is returning for a second online edition this year, aiming to celebrate the best in cinema from the New East – including cinema from the Balkans, Russia, eastern Europe and Central Asia. I’m looking forward to joining the jury this year and planning for that offered the perfect opportunity to catch up with members of the festival’s organising committee, Spaniard Lucía de la Torre and Russian Maria Muzdybaeva to talk about the first edition and its expansion this year, which will see it move from screening just seven films to more than 30.
