London-based singer, rapper, producer, and DJ Shygirl has returned to announce a new EP titled Club Shy, out February 9th. She’s also shared a new single, “tell me,” featuring the German electronic producer Boys Noize. Stream it below.
Described in a press release as “an extension of Shygirl’s eponymous club experience,” Club Shy is named after Shygirl’s various club events held in London, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, and Brazil over the last two years. Rather than leaning solely on her skills as a rapper, the EP finds Shygirl embracing her love of electronic and club-focused sounds and her curatorial ear. Shygirl produced the album alongside collaborators Sg Lewis, Boys Noize, Kingdom, Empress Of, Lolo Zouaï, and Cosha.
“tell me,” the EP’s latest offering, is characterized by a thumping, euro-dance groove courtesy of Boys Noize. In her usual breathy, sultry cadence, Shygirl channels the throbbing...

In a nine-minute video posted to social media, Ice Cube has responded to Katt Williams’ viral Club Shay Shay YouTube show interview, in which he attacked Kevin Hart, Cedric the Entertainer, and discussed a potential bathroom rape scene in the Ice Cube film, Friday After Next, among other topics.
Hart has already responded, calling the Williams comments “sad,” but using the moment to tout his upcoming Netflix film.
Ice Cube, whose film Friday After Next had Williams in it, today tried to address the Club Shay Shay comments.
“It’s been over 20 years since the movie came out, and people have different perspectives,” Ice Cube began in the video about Friday After Next.
Ice Cube went on to say that he wanted to clarify a few things. Chief among them was that he would film a rape scene after Williams said that he had pushed for the removal of a sexual assault clip.

Katt Williams’ recent interview on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast has gone viral for a handful of soundbites and revelations made by the comedian. Williams made his film debut playing Money Mike in the 2002 comedy “Friday After Next,” which he revealed originally included a sexual assault scene that he refused to participate in (via BuzzFeed). Williams pushed the studio to get the scene removed from the movie because “rape is never funny.” The comedian succeeded.
The scene in question centers on a confrontation between Money Mike and Terry Crews’ ex-convict Damon. Money Mike is using the bathroom when Damon comes in unannounced and threatens to assault him, telling Money Mike to “just let it happen.” Money Mike fights back and uses pliers on Damon’s testicles to escape.
“The truth of the matter is, Money Mike in the original script gets raped in the bathroom,” Williams revealed. “Katt Williams...

A years-long feud between Katt Williams and The Neighborhood‘s Cedric the Entertainer rages on as allegations of joke stealing continue. During a recent appearance on the Club Shay podcast, Williams clapped back at Cedric’s January 2023 remarks about his alleged joke-stealing from the 1990s. At the time, Cedric stated, “That was ridiculous. I seen Katt 30 times and he didn’t say nothing, all that was some internet sh*t… I responded to him, he didn’t respond to me, so I left it at that.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Club Shay Shay (@clubshayshay) Well, it seems Williams has a response now, in his own sit-down on Club Shay Shay, where he addressed the situation and his continued frustrations. “He thought that I was just a no-name comedian and that he could take this joke and nobody would know,” Williams vented. “The issue was that...
