Roberto Sommella graduates with Prof. Valerio Caprara in Comparative Studies at Università "L'Orientale" di Napoli, with a dissertation on Disney and Miyazaki titled "A Wonderland Spirited Away: Il mondo animato da Walt Disney a Hayao Miyazaki"
He participates as an intern to the production of some shorts and documentaries sponsored by Film Commission Campania
With a group of friends, he produces and in some case directs a few no-budget short movies: "Unione" (Salon des Refusés at Milano Film Festival, "S1 - Es One", "Bite Me"). He films, edits and produces a series of documentaries about the annual event "L'Arte della Felicità", which will be the inspiration for the successful movie by Luciano Stella and Alessandro Rak.
When he moves to Milan, he shifts his main activity towards video editing and more commercial, non-fiction productions.
He lives now in London, where he mainly collaborates on short format videos for social media (branded content, documentary, talk shows), and occasionally still works on fictional movies ("Long Way To Never").
