- Sheridan 'Sherry' Edward Atkinson (born in 1921, London) was the last surviving member of the Royal Canadian Regiment to have participated in the invasion of Sicily at Pachino on July 10, 1943 (operation Husky, WWII). After the war, Sherry dedicated his life helping other veterans through his work as District Director with Veterans Affairs Canada and later through the Royal Canadian Legion as a member of the Ridgetown Branch. He was part of the "Red Patch Division" of the British Eight Army, and was involved in the Royal Canadian Regiment Association.- IMDb Mini Biography By: MAthePA
