The hundreds of layoffs at CNN this week were, as CNN boss Chris Licht predicted, a “gut punch,” but the question for staffers — and viewers — is what will happen next.
For viewers, the changes may be apparent in a number of ways, particularly at Hln, where the Robin Meade-anchored Morning Express is ending and Meade, whose first day on air at Hln was Sept. 11, 2001, is departing along with staffers. Instead, CNN will replace the morning show with a simulcast of CNN This Morning, the relaunched version of New Day. Hln, which was formerly the newscast-dominated Headline News, had shifted for the rest of the day to largely a format of true-crime shows, something that resembles Warner Bros Discovery sibling network ID. So it wasn’t a complete surprise that ID would take on responsibilities for the true-crime block.

A young man who joined President Donald Trump for a round of golf at the commander in chief’s West Palm Beach course on New Year’s Day told CNN the president was “fully in the moment” during the game — and freed himself of any distractions.
“It was all golf,” Taylor Funk, who identifies himself as a pro golfer on his Twitter page, said on New Day Tuesday morning when asked whether the president worked at all on the course, or took any calls or briefings. “He was fully in the moment and with us.”
Later, he added: “I feel...

President Donald Trump is facing widespread criticism for his tweet Thursday night suggesting that global warming doesn’t exist — and worse yet, that perhaps it should exist.

The tweet came in the midst of the president’s holiday vacation to balmy Florida, where he escaped the freezing temperatures that have...

As Donald Trump hit the links once again this week at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, photo and video crews were blocked in their efforts to film the president’s latest golf outing, CNN reported.
On Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday, CNN journalists positioned themselves on a public sidewalk outside the club, where they were able to shoot footage of the president playing golf through a gap in the hedges.
But on Wednesday, the journalists were met with a new obstacle. According to CNN, a large white truck had been parked in front of the hedges, blocking CNN,...
