Alexandra is an experienced Yorkshire-born composer and music producer with a fast-growing portfolio of onscreen works, ranging from feature films to commercials. She trained in music production at Manchester's School of Sound Recording, gaining a Distinction before moving to London in 2017 to pursue her career in film. Her first composition, for short film 'IBZ' (2017), was premiered at Cannes Film Festival in the Short Film Corner. Since this explosive start, she has proven herself repeatedly writing music for the screen. Her unwavering commitment has lead to her proudly accomplishing two original feature film scores before the age of 30, with a third feature film score accomplished in 2022 and a fourth now underway (soon to be announced).
Her momentum is only increasing; she delivered her score for powerful short 'The Penitential Act' (2023) earlier this year, featuring a live church organ and euphoric vocals by the London Gay Men's Choir. The film is currently preparing for the festival circuit and expected to be very well received. She is now currently working on her fourth feature film score.
Alexandra started her music career DJing, releasing a number of electronic dance music records. With a background in dance music her approach to her compositions is unique, bold and immersive. Her experience in this industry and sound recording abilities paired with her experimental vision have steadily broadened her range from the very start of her career. She has worked with an assortment of musicians in a range of recording spaces, including her personal highlight working in the long-revered Trident Studios, Soho.
Not one to be pigeonholed she has now firmly established herself in orchestral and scoring, starting with her ethereal score for short film 'Shadin' (2018), which was premiered to accolade at London Film Week 2018. Her most recently finished feature film score for 'Dream Hacker' (2022) is a bold collision of classical and electronica, and her boundary-pushing score for award-winning short film 'Revelations' (2022) boasts an exciting range of live instrumentation, vocals and sound design.
