GLAAD, the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, today announced that multiple Tony and Emmy award-winning actress, producer, and activist Judith Light will receive the Excellence in Media Award which will be presented by queer performer and Academy Award-winner Ariana DeBose at the 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards taking place at the Hilton Midtown New York on Friday, May 6, 2022.

GLAAD, the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, has announced a new slate of special guests for the 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards. GLAAD is partnering with Google to exclusively premiere the ceremony on GLAAD’s YouTube on Thursday, April 8 at 8pm Et.
The event will also stream on Hulu on April 8 starting at 10pm Et, and will be available to stream on-demand on Hulu until the end of June.

On Thursday, toy company Hasbro announced that the Mr. Potato Head brand would be dropping the “Mr.” in an effort to “promote gender equality and inclusion” — although Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head will still be available, just with “Mr.” and “Mrs.” featured less prominently on the packaging. But that clarification was announced after the news spread as “Mr. Potato Head is gender-neutral now,” which is how Stephen Colbert positively talked about it on Thursday’s “Late Show.”

The online special, which will be co-hosted by Billy Eichner and Lilly Singh, will stream live on GLAAD’s YouTube channel and Facebook April 26 at 8pm Et. Together in Pride is GLAAD’s response to Covid-19 and will raise funds for Lgbtq community centers that are members of CenterLink.

Update: Last week, GLAAD canceled the New York City ceremony for the 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards, and now Lgbtq advocacy organization has postponed the Los Angeles ceremony that had been set for April 16. GLAAD is looking to reschedule for later this year.
