What a long, long month of anticipation, waiting for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 Episode 11. And I'm happy to report that "All the Comforts of Home" did not disappoint.
The story hit the ground running almost as quickly as Team Coulson did on their return to the present, re-introducing old plot threads and continuing the current ones wonderfully.
Not to mention the fact that I am very, very happy that (Spoiler Alert!) Deke's not dead!
Some might argue that Deke's storyline was wrapped up quite well with his heroic sacrifice to make sure the monolith had power. Fair point.
I found him one of the best parts of the Dystopian Future arc the first half of this season, and I'm reasonably certain that there's plenty of story to be had by bringing him back to the present with the team.

Agents of Shield heads into its hiatus with an ominous homecoming of sorts. Spoilers ahead in our review...

Now that’s how you set up a hiatus! Even though I have been profoundly enjoying this season of Marvel’s Agents Of Shield, around last week I began to get a little homesick. I enjoyed Shield’s timey wimey space adventure, I mean, how intense has it been to watch Coulson and his agents fight off the overwhelming forces of the Kree?
But I kind of missed the McU proper. Well, this week, with the help of Flint, Deke, Tess, and Enoch, Shield is able to open a gate back home. But it isn’t easy, and not everyone survives.

This week on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Kasius’ own seer detailed the perpetual hell that has been her own Groundhog Day — dropping a bombshell about a beloved agent along the way.

After a string of very strong episodes in an equally strong season, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 Episode 9 didn't quite measure up to its predecessors.
Leaps of logic coupled with a few head-scratching developments prevented "Best Laid Plans" from soaring, but there's still quite a bit to recommend it.
Let's start with Enoch. As I've mentioned in previous reviews, Enoch might well be one of the best recurring characters of the entire series. His comically serious dialogue is an unfailing source of humor in a fairly dark story arc.
No matter how ridiculous the line, Joel Stoffer delivers. Even acting opposite the utterly deadpan snarker Melinda May, his comedy gold performance stands on its own two feet:
Enoch: Agent Coulson, we are evacuating to the caves for shelter, are we not?
May: Zephyr flies again, metal man.
Enoch: I am mostly plastic alloy. And chronicoms do not have gender.
Permalink: I am mostly plastic alloy.

'Best Laid Plans' is just one of those episodes that feels like you’re watching it for like five minutes and then it’s over. Because folks, this sucker moves as Shield finally takes the fight to those Kree bastiches.
The story is split into two plots this week as Mack, Yo Yo, Flint, and the rest of the humans aboard Kasius’s slave station must fight for their survival while Coulson, Daisy, May, Fitz, Simmons, and Deke have to figure how to fly a decades old Zephyr off what is left of the Earth.
Whew, where to begin? I guess we should discuss Mack’s rebellion. This week, Mack and company discover that...

Can I just say how much I've enjoyed this season so far? The unexpected trip to the future has been brilliantly executed, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 Episode 7 marked another strong entry in the saga.
While not as overwhelmingly fantastic as the two episodes that preceded it, "Together or Not At All" did not disappoint as (most of) Team Coulson reunited, however briefly.
Kasius wasn't as dead as I expected from Jemma Simmons' rather violent attack on him during the escape in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 Episode 6, but it certainly gave him the opportunity to show that he's more than just a wannabe.
His apparent mutual attachment and loyalty with Sinara (despite apparently throwing her under the bus against Daisy) gave his character some depth. Sinara, too, got to be more than the silent muscle.
Faulnak (Kasius' brother) referred to her as "lowborn," providing some...

For everyone who had been waiting patiently (or not!) for some true action since Team Coulson landed in the future, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 Episode 6 almost certainly brought cheers.
"Fun & Games," beyond the amazing fight scenes, also saw some more dramatic plot developments and a veritable massacre of recurring characters, both friendly and villainous.
Let's dig in!
I was definitely surprised (though hardly upset) to see Kasius go, with Jemma making excellent use of her purloined cutlery. Actually, that whole scene was downright epic.
Fitz, Simmons, and Daisy working together to effect their escape was brilliantly done, and I have to give props to both the actors and episode director (and series star!) Clark Gregg.
This episode also managed to yank on the heartstrings a few times, too, such as Fitz's initial attempt to speak with Simmons. So cruel!
Fitz: Jemma, it’s me. Don’t turn around.
