Sebastiaan Bax
- Composer
Sebastiaan Bax (he/him) (1994) is a Dutch composer for film, live theatre and other art forms. He always strives to make music with a rich emotional range and nuance. To accomplish that he often begins collaborating with a director early on in pre-production by defining what the music can express with respect to the other disciplines. What isn't visible yet that score should make audible? Or what can music emphasise or expand to help tell the story of the film?
Bax works with a large range of acoustic instruments and collaborates regularly with other musicians, often early on in his creative process. That way he's able to quickly compose musical sketches with an original sound with which to experiment before settling on any final products. Besides that live instruments and players always come with some imperfections, which gives authenticity and liveliness to his music and the world of the film.
