Mel Bertram
- Sound Department
Mel is a hardworking, reliable and dedicated individual with a passion for all things creative. Starting out as a bachelor qualified audio engineer, Mel has immersed herself in the industry, developing and strengthening her skills to become a multifaceted creative professional.
She aspires to bring stories to life through the creation of sound that can be experienced, rather than simply heard. Mel has collaborated with the likes of: established Brisbane bands 'The Glycereens' and 'Dune Rats', ABC for their long form documentary 'A League of her Own', Amazon Prime, and SBS On Demand and BrisAsia Festival for their 2022 mini documentary series 'Mother's Table'.
Mel is endlessly curious, constantly learning and seeking ways to explore and improve. She is conscientious, taking commitments seriously and delivering with integrity. While tenacity is at the core of her drive, Mel approaches projects with both humility and passion.
Mel is the Director of Audio and Production for start-up business, Modek Media, which she has co-founded with business partner, Christina Terry. Modek is a creative content business. With aspirations to become a vanguard production suite in the industry, Modek's vision for the future is to create substantial pathways for female content creators and to promote and enable the voice of persons from diverse and marginalised backgrounds.
