- Dr. Vollant was awarded the C.M. (Member of the Order of Canada) on November 9, 2022 and Invested on June 21, 2023 from the Canadian Governor General. He lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is a passionate advocate for healthy living. An Innu doctor physician, professor and lecturer, he was Quebec's first Indigenous surgeon and is a trusted authority on the needs and realities of health services delivery in Indigenous communities. Beyond the health care system, he is deeply committed to ensuring youth are given the opportunities needed to lead healthy and successful lives. As the founder of Puamun Meshkenu, he supports members of First Nations, Mutis and Inuit communities to walk their own holistic path of the thousand dreams.

He lives in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. To promote Indigenous cultural heritage, he set out on the Innu Meshkenu (My Innu Path), a 6 000-km walk that passed through Indigenous communities across eastern Canada. This initiative inspired a multitude of Indigenous and non- Indigenous walkers to join him, but more than that, it encouraged an entire generation of young people to stay in school and pursue their dreams.
