Ahmed Abd was born in Baghdad in 1994. He was a member of the Iraqi Independent Film Center for years, and during this time, he worked on his short films. Among these films are "Birds of Sinjar," which won the BBC Award in London in 2019, "War Nest" and "Safia." These films participated in various international film festivals.
Ahmed also contributed to the writing and editing of several short films. He worked as an assistant director on the film "Hayfa Street" by Mohannad Hayal and "The Journey" by Mohammed Al-Daraji. Afterwards, he worked on his first feature-length documentary film, "The Fifth Story," which participated in numerous international festivals. It won the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) award at the IDFA Festival in the Netherlands in 2020, and received special recognition from the judging committee at the Ismailia Festival in Egypt.
He went on to work on his short series titled "River's Shadow" and during this period, he directed his attention to writing his new film.
