Emma Clandon
- Actress
An absolute passion for dance and music has informed Emma's life. From the age of four studying RAD classical ballet produced a joy in her spirit, training in both the UK and Australia at schools such as Ecole Classique School of Classical Ballet in Sydney, as well as taking class whenever her family travelled overseas. Adding a full range of training in other areas of dance, from contemporary to ballroom, filled out her skill set, as very early on Emma knew this was where she wanted her career to be.
Complementing her love of expression through movement has been studying music to an advanced level, including musicianship, theory, singing and playing the cello to a professional level. Performing classical music in choirs, orchestras and quartets only increased her appreciation for the performing arts and added to her experience of dancing, singing and acting in ballets, musicals and plays.
Graduating from Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom, where she studied dance, drama and musical theatre, further honed her skills and Emma continues to take professional classes to maintain her standard.
Performing in theatre or on film is a culmination of a determination since childhood that is the essence of Emma. Being part of an ensemble and savouring every performance fulfils her ambition to strive for perfection. Versatile screen performances include playing a maid on Mr Selfridge to a royal bridesmaid on The Crown, while in theatre she has recently played Victoria in Cats (STC), Teresita in West Side Story (Vivo D'Arte) and Kitt in Betty Blue Eyes (PWOS). Her most recent credited film performance has been as Reynold's Mother in Phantom Thread.
