Jikirag opens with text telling us that we are in the year 1263Ad and a band of refugees from a plague has made a settlement in the middle of a forgotten forest. Nature granted them refuge on the vow that they take no more from the land than they needed. But now years have passed and their hunger has outstripped their vow.
Shapur and Ewan (Alexander J. Baxter; The Man in the High Castle) are searching the forest for Shapur’s son. They find the boy’s body but something else finds them and they return to the settlement badly wounded. The next day Alis ventures into the woods and after having a vision seem to become possessed.

Vertical Entertainment has revealed an official US trailer for an indie horror film from Canada titled Jikirag, the feature directorial debut of the film's three directors. This "Pagan folk horror" film is getting a US release in September, though it hasn't shown up at any fests. A pagan village, founded on the bones of both innocent and foul, is deeply rooted within the heart of an ancient Eden. When a balance of flesh and soil decays, the last surviving village elder battles madness and the macabre to save her people from not only themselves but the monstrous judgment that burrows up from below. Another person associated with The CW's Batwoman is speaking out against Ruby Rose.
Alexander J. Baxter, who worked on Batwoman Season 1 issued a statement exclusively to Cbr to detail his experience of working with Rose.
Rose came forward this week with allegations of a toxic set, and Baxter has said there were various issues on the set, but they were thanks to Ruby.
Baxter detailed the other shows he worked on in the statement and said that scoring work on Batwoman was a highlight.
He called the production company professional and fantastic but said that the issues kicked off on the first day with Rose.
"Then came Ruby Rose," the statement says.
"From day one, where her supposed injury stopped her from doing 60% of her job, she began her first day on the show not acknowledging a single crew member besides anyone above the line."
