Roman Perfilyev, born on May 30, 1985, in Kyiv, Ukraine, began his career in the art industry as an Art Director at a film production company in Tel Aviv after graduating from the WIZO Haifa Academy of Design and Education and completing his studies at the Tiltan College of Design and Visual Communication in 2007.
After working in Israel, Roman returned to Ukraine in 2009 and worked as an Art Director at MTV Ukraine, collaborating with production studios based in Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. In 2015, he began his journey as a film director and released his first feature film, a horror movie called 'Lysa Hora' (also known as 'The Hill of Hell'), in 2018, which received accolades from various film festivals.
Roman's second feature film, 'The Inglorious Serfs', is a unique blend of adventure, satire, and western genres, inspired by the works of Quentin Tarantino and crafted as a unique mashup of multiple genres and alternative history. The film won several international film festivals 'Best Director' and 'Best Film' awards, and it has become a cult favorite on the local market.
