The Toronto International Film Festival unveiled its Primetime program on Monday, which includes nine TV series that will be screening at the festival including new shows from filmmakers Lulu Wang, Shawn Levy and Steven Knight.
The Netflix limited series “All the Light We Cannot See,” directed and executive produced by Levy and written by Steven Knight based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, will have its world premiere at TIFF. The festival will also host the world premiere of “The Farewell” filmmaker Lulu Wang’s new original series “Expats,” which is set to debut on Prime Video.

The Sheffield DocFest has unveiled its line-up for its 2021 programme that includes the World Premiere of the first instalment of Academy Award winner Steve McQueen’s new series for the BBC, ‘Uprising’.
For the first time, Sheffield DocFest goes nationwide with five premiere screenings showing in up to 16 partner cinemas in cities around the UK, and online, followed by pre-recorded Q&As. Les Films d’Ici, the production outfit behind “Waltz With Bashir” and “Funan,” has come on board “Ghostdance,” a timely animated feature shedding light on crimes committed against indigenous women in Canada.
“Ghostdance” is being directed by France’s Nicolas Blies, Stephane Hueber-Blies and Canada’s Kim O’Bomsawin.
Valérie Beaugrand-Champagne, the seasoned Canadian screenwriter whose credits include Denis Villeneuve’s “Enemy” and “Incendies,” has also joined “Ghostdance” to co-write the project with the Blies brothers and O’Bomsawin.
Now in development, “Ghostdance” follows Mykis, a native teenager who’s about to leave Canada to attend a prestigious dance school in New York when she accidentally causes the spirit of a faceless young woman to appear.
