Kyle Provencio Reingold is a film director, writer, producer, composer, and photographer from East Los Angeles, where he is currently based. In 2018, he graduated cum laude and named a University Honors Scholar from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, earning a BFA in Film & TV Production/Writing/Directing.
Currently, KPR serves as the Program Director for The Ghetto Film School, Los Angeles, where he has overseen curriculum, creative partnerships, in-class programming, and the production of over 100+ Student Short Films; 43 of these films were produced by students, on Bolex Cameras/16mm, who pursued the theme of portraiture at The Huntington, now on view at the Virginia Steele Scott Galleries of American Art.
KPR has worn many hats in productions both in California and New York. He has co-produced music videos for RCA artists and independent clients, as well as working as a writer's assistant and production assistant in productions for both ABC/NBC/SPTV "The Goldbergs", "Schooled", and "Indebted."
Besides production work, KPR worked as a Lead Film Instructor for Ghetto Film School/ NYU Tisch School of the Arts Summer College Residency program (2017). He has also served as a Composer for Gimlet Media/Spotify, where he produced original music and score for "The Mogul Podcast".
The films KPR has worked on have screened at film festivals such as the Official Latino Film Festival, Cine+Mas San Francisco Latino Film Festival, Latino Film Market, and Latinx21 Film Festival. He has also won awards, such as the 2019 Audience Choice Award for his narrative short film, "Con Esperanza" (2020), which is based around a Chicano boy pursuing his musical dreams.
KPR's documentary short film, "Pasha," will be touring the Doc. Festival circuit ('22-23). He is developing a docu-fiction feature screenplay based on the life of "Little Willie G" of both "Thee Midniters" and "Malo" respectively. KPR is also in pre-production for his next surrealist narrative short film, "Azucarar."
