Patrick is journalist, screenwriter, director and actor from Stuttgart, Arkansas. He is a two-time Arkansas Press Association award winning journalist with over 15 years of experience both domestically and internationally. He is also a recipient of National Defense and Navy Achievement Medals with seven combined years of service in the Arkansas National Guard and U.S. Navy.
After completing his service obligation in 1993, Patrick worked as a program coordinator for the Project READ literacy program in Redwood City, California. He went on to work as a software instructor for Oracle Corporation before returning to Stuttgart in 1999 to begin his career as a journalist.
Patrick worked as sports editor with three local newspapers for the better part of the next decade. In 2010, he traveled to the Dutch Caribbean island of Saba and worked as an island correspondent for the St. Maartin Daily Herald. There he played a central role in covering Holland's incorporation of the BES Islands following the dissolution of the Netherland Antilles.
In 2011, Patrick relocated to Detroit to work as communications coordinator for the East Michigan Environmental Action Council and later joined the Sierra Club's Environmental Justice Office. During this time, Patrick wrote regular columns for the Michigan Citizen and Huffington Post. While in Detroit, Patrick wrote, edited and directed the documentaries Cook Eat Talk and 13 in the Hole.
Most recently, Patrick covered the 2016 election cycle at the Pine Bluff Commercial and completed coursework for his MFA in Digital Filmmaking in 2020. During that time, he also wrote and directed for the web series The Daily and completed his first full-length screenplay The Sons of Man.
