Ibai Llanos has rewritten the Twitch record books once again. The Spanish streamer drew more than 3.4 million concurrent viewers for La Velada Del Año III, the latest in a series of influencer boxing events.
The third edition of La Velada Del Año (which translates to “The Night of the Year”) took place at Madrid’s Civitas Metropolitano stadium, where 70,000 fans showed up to watch a series of fights and musical performances.
Ibai’s seven-hour stream of the event included appearances from top Hispanic creators and artists. YouTuber Fernanfloo won a close contest against gamer Luzu, Mexican streamer Samy “Rivers” Rivera participated in two matches, and Puerto Rican megastar Ozuna delivered a headlining musical performance. The main card proved to be a bit anticlimactic, as Chilean YouTube legend Germán Garmendia lasted less than two rounds against the big punches of his Argentinian opponent Coscu.
The event was not without its hiccups.

A group of streamers, athletes, and other media personalities are coming together to put a spotlight on women’s sports. The Queens League, an alternative soccer organization led by longtime F.C. Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué, kicked off with its first match on May 6.
The Queens League is the successor to the Kings League, which made a splash earlier this year thanks to its unusual rules and the high-profile owners of its teams. Spanish streamers like Ibai Llanos and TheGrefg (real name David Cánovas Martínez) assembled their own Kings League squads and helped promote the endeavor on their respective streams. Llanos and Cánovas Martínez are known for their record-breaking broadcasts on Twitch.
The Kings League was a smashing success, drawing more than 90,000 fans for its final at Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium. Less than two months later, top female soccer players from around the world are getting in on the fun.

Last year, an event called La Velada Del Año II set the record for the most concurrent viewers on a single Twitch stream. The third chapter of that influencer boxing series is coming on July 1, and it could be the biggest Velada yet. The organizer of the event, Spanish streaming star Ibai Llanos, needed only an hour to sell out all 60,000 tickets for La Velada Del Año III.
The third edition of La Velada Del Año (which translates to “The Night of the Year”) will feature matchups between top content creators in the Spanish-speaking world. Participants will include Mexican gamer Rivers and Salvadoran YouTube star Fernanfloo. In addition, an American streamer is joining the Velada fight card for the first time. Amouranth, who has trained alongside other influencer-boxers, will face off against Spanish personality Mayichi.

The Spanish streaming community has produced yet another record-breaking Twitch broadcast. The final of the Kings League, an alternative soccer organization boosted by local streamers by TheGrefg and Ibai, drew a 90,000-person crowd in Barcelona on March 26. Online, the event’s official Twitch stream added more than 15 million aggregate views.
The Kings League is led by Gerard Pique, a soccer star who spent 15 seasons playing for F.C. Barcelona and the Spanish national team. Pique looked to revolutionize the beautiful game by bringing an updated version of it to Twitch. The Kings League features unusual rules, such as random powerups and rolling substitutions. Its blend of soccer and video games made it a hit with the Spanish gaming community, even before its blockbuster finale.
Shakira may think she is out of Pique’s league, but the legendary defender has shown that he can at least keep up with his ex’s record-setting video traffic.
