Claire Perales-Duckworth
Claire Perales-Duckworth got the acting bug at a very young age. She did acting in the Santa Maria Civic Theater's Fairytale series as a preschooler. Even though she did not have an actual part, Perales-Duckworth remembers whizzing up to the stage to play an impromptu role with grade school kids twice and three times her age. Roughly a decade and a half later, she joined the cast for two seasons and has not looked back from her love of the stage, especially musical theatre.
A native of the Santa Maria, California, Perales-Duckworth received her education and training in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara. She cut her teeth in acting in a local youth theater performing in such classic musicals as Annie and Into the Woods. By junior high she had begun acting with San Luis Obispo-based Kelrik Productions under the direction of Erik Austin. Much to her dismay, she found out that her local Catholic high school lacked a theatre program but that didn't slow Claire down much---she literally crossed the street to perform in productions at the local public high school earning a high school letter in theatre at her own school's arch nemesis. Along the way, she performed in such musicals as Legally Blonde (Margot) and High School Musical (Sharpay) while continuing to perform in Kelrik Productions musicals including Peter Pan, Willy Wonka, and The Wizard of Oz.
After graduation, Claire made her debut with the Theater Group at Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) as Dinah Lord in High Society. She continued her training at SBCC in the theater under the direction of Michael Gros, dance under Tracy Koffords, and singing. Claire continued acting in the Santa Maria Civic Theater in such shows as Seussical (Bird Girl #1) and Legally Blonde (Serena).
Most recently, Claire has transitioned into film, television, and commercial work. She appeared in a local television commercial for the SLO Family Network, acted in educational videos for ABC-CLIO, and has appeared as a background actor in such hit television shows as Atypical, The Goldbergs, The Good Place, and The Politician. She also appeared in the feature film, The Coast.
