[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Outlander Season 7 Episode 4, “A Most Uncomfortable Woman.”] Outlander‘s latest installment has sent Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) north to Fort Ticonderoga, as they join the rebels on the American Revolutionary War front — but not before a shocking reunion took place in Wilmington. Intending to travel to Scotland, the Frasers find themselves changing course, particularly Jamie who is conscripted into the fight. Fresh off of losing their home at Fraser’s Ridge to a fire, they’re still coming to terms with the situation and this shift in their plans. While completing errands around town though, Claire bumps into none other than Tom Christie (Mark Lewis Jones), who she assumed was dead; he took the fall for Malva’s (Jessica Reynolds) murder in the first episode, allowing Claire to be released from prison. What’s more startling is that Tom doesn’t utter a word but plants...

The Droughtlander is over! Outlander has returned to Starz, and the Fraser family is reckoning with the reality that they cannot hide from the Revolutionary War. Everyone will have to make the choice to join the fight or stay out of it.
Den Of Geek spoke to showrunner Maril Davis and returning actors Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, David Berry, and John Bell, plus new to this season actors Charles Vandervaart, Joey Phillips, and Izzy Meikle-Small, to get the behind-the-scenes scoop on how Outlander is bringing a character-focused perspective to history that viewers are already familiar with.
Although Outlander Season 7 is split into two halves, all 16 episodes were filmed together, which Davis admits she initially found daunting. “I thought it would be worse than it was,” she says. “I thought season one was a challenge. I...

We’ve already seen love for Outlander‘s Claire bring one man back from the dead. In Friday’s episode, it kinda happened again.
While the Frasers spent some time in Wilmington, N.C., ahead of their planned journey to Scotland, Claire literally bumped into someone she thought was a ghost: Tom Christie, the Ridge resident who falsely confessed to murder in order earlier this season to save Claire from being tried and hanged for the crime.

Tom Christie is alive. His quick wits saved him in much the same way they worked to free Claire Fraser, saving her life.
During a recent press day, we had the chance to speak with Mark Lewis Jones about Tom's motivations and what it was like playing the enigmatic character who has fallen deeply in love with Claire.
He shared many great insights about the story and the complexities of Tom Christie. I hope you enjoy the conversation.
Tom Christie is a very complex man with a very strong moral code. How did that play into giving his life in exchange for Claire's?
Yeah. It's a big journey, isn't it?
It is.
From where we first meet Tom to where we end up. I guess you do it bit by bit, and it's a very slow reveal. Those scenes in Series Six are great fun to play, even though he...

This week’s Outlander episode, “The Happiest Place on Earth”, covers a lot of ground in terms of action and character development. The extended cold open closes the chapter on the Christie family saga, which allows the remaining part of the episode to set up re-introducing William Ransom as a young man who will have his own story, as well as setting up the main obstacle for Brianna and Roger to overcome this season.
After Tom Christie’s death, Alan reveals to Claire that he was the one who killed Malva. He was motivated by jealousy that Malva was trying to break off their incestuous relationship and her failure to get child support cash out of Jamie. Ian believes Alan is about to attack Claire, so he shoots him dead with an arrow. Claire feels guilty, but a passer-by tells her Alan deserved it for his actions.

Tom Christie gave his life for Claire's, but that doesn't mean it's all roses from here on out.
Outlander Season 7 Episode 2 brought children to the forefront, and not all stories have such similarly happy endings.
And not all have the gift of time travel to ensure safe outcomes, even in the most dire circumstances.
Claire is home, and she has to reconcile another chance to live with her beloved Jamie, with Tom confessing to a murder he did not commit.
What do we learn from the dead, if not the lessons of life? What had Tom Christie taught me since he surely was gone by now? His sacrifice reminded me that we should make an effort to truly live, count our lives in thoughts, feelings, breaths, and heartbeats, not the number of days, months, or years because tomorrow is not promised.

Time to flip the “Number of Episodes Since Outlander Made Me Cry” counter back to zero.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Outlander Season 7 premiere, “A Life Well Lost.”] Outlander is back and delivered plenty of emotions in its Season 7 premiere episode, “A Life Well Lost.” As Jamie (Sam Heughan) raced to save Claire (Caitriona Balfe) from potential death, his fellow Scotsman Tom Christie (Mark Lewis Jones) stayed close by her in order to keep watch. While she remained imprisoned for allegedly murdering Tom’s daughter Malva (Jessica Reynolds), Tom sought justice in the form of a fair legal process. When Claire is whisked away to care for Governor Martin’s (Eugene O’Hare) pregnant wife, she sends a letter back for Tom, conveying her desire to have Jamie come and rescue her. It’s his involvement that allows the Frasers to be reunited and ultimately set free when he makes the gallant choice to sacrifice himself by confessing to the crime neither he nor Claire committed. While Tom is partly responsible for...

On Outlander Season 7 Episode 1, Claire's resourcefulness and persuasive abilities are tested as she navigates her imprisonment and tries to secure her safety.
As the series progresses well beyond the season premiere and with much vital ground to cover, Claire's predicament is addressed with expediency rare for shows these days who like to milk the drama for as long as they can.
That's never been a problem for Outlander, and there is always another dramatic moment pounding on Claire and Jamie Fraser's door.
We never expected Claire to face the gallows noose again, but that didn't make Jamie's dream about it any less stressful.
They've been down this road too many times for the possibilities not to eat away at his brain, turning his sweet slumber into something far more malevolent.
Claire was safely ensconced in prison, and her modern sensibilities once again set her on a course for success.

Our long, international nightmare — aka Outlander’s ongoing saga of the Brown family’s hatred for the Frasers, particularly Claire — comes to a tidy end in the show’s Season 7 premiere. And thank Gabaldon, because I don’t know about you, but I’m kinda ready to head back to the Ridge and chill for a bit.*

After keeping us in Fraser’s Ridge for multiple seasons — featuring a slew of frustrating but not always interesting villains, and at the cusp of the Revolutionary War — “Outlander” Season 7 feels like a breath of fresh air.
The season premiere begins where we’ve been before: a determined Jamie (Sam Heughan) with Ian (John Bell) at his side, out to save his beloved Claire (Caitríona Balfe) from being tried for the death of Malva Christie (Jessica Reynolds). Claire, meanwhile, does what she can to survive — and she has truly perfected the art of keeping her wits about her while facing impending doom.
But unlike other seasons that bludgeoned and violated our heroine in unnecessarily graphic ways, we’re given a respite here. Instead, Claire’s looming trial and potential execution are delayed in part thanks to her skills as a doctor and because of the era’s political unrest, with Jamie always one step behind.

The fight for a new America is coming in the first full trailer for Outlander season seven.

The opening title sequence for Outlander Season 7 will be sung by Sinéad O’Connor, following a tradition each season of adapting the show’s theme song by drawing inspiration from upcoming storylines and locations. Season 7 is set to premiere this summer.
“We are honored to have Sinead O’Connor performing ‘The Skye Boat Song.’ Her rendition is, for me, a reminder of all that’s beautiful about Outlander. She is talented beyond measure. Hers is a voice of the ages — one which pierces heart and soul — and embodies the spirit of the show,” says Matthew B. Roberts, showrunner and executive producer of Outlander.
Outlander‘s seventh season will pick up after the events of the Season 6 finale, which saw Claire (Caitriona Balfe) arrested by Richard Brown (Chris Larkin) for the murder of Malva Christie (Jessica Reynolds) and for being a witch.
