Olivia Rodrigo's macabre heartbreak anthem "Vampire" is like a wooden stake through the heart, but Kyle Hanagami and his dance crew are here to heal our emotional wounds with their supernaturally smooth dance moves. Inspired by the debut single from Rodrigo's sophomore album, "Guts," Hanagami's choreography is sorrowful, spooky, and packed with the kind of emotion that would leave even the moodiest vampires in awe.
The first group to execute the routine - Haley Fitzgerald, Haley Jonae, and Maycee Steele - delivered a fluid performance with moments of thoughtful nonchalance. A casual flip of the wrist or turn of the head punctuated the song's most temperamental moments before the crew went all out at the crescendo. A second group - Eloise Harpas and Dougal Herr - delivered an equally impassioned performance, playing off each other beautifully to illustrate the failed romance referenced in the song's lyrics.

“The Undoing” was created by multiple Emmy-winning writer/producer David E. Kelley (“L.A. Law,” “Picket Fences,” “The Practice,” “Ally McBeal,” “Big Little Lies”) and directed by Emmy-winning director Susanne Bier (“The Night Manager”), based on the book “You Should Have Known” by Jean Hanff Korelitz. The series follows Grace Sachs (Nicole Kidman), who lives a picture-perfect life in New York City as a successful therapist, married to esteemed doctor Jonathan Fraser (Hugh Grant), raising their son Henry (Noah Jupe).
Their lives painfully unravel after a mysterious woman is brutally murdered, Jonathan goes missing and it is later revealed that the victim was Jonathan’s mistress. Noma Dumezweni could be up for a supporting actress Emmy this fall for her performance of Haley Fitzgerald in “The Undoing,” but she had a moment where she thought she “was going to be fired” from the HBO limited series, Dumezweni told TheWrap.
“I was basically doing swan feet,” Dumezweni said of shooting her early scenes opposite Nicole Kidman. “Meaning, I’m looking as calm as I can but I am Flapping right underneath.”
“I was cacking it. I was stressing. All those things,” she continued during TheWrap’s panel honoring standout supporting actors from HBO programs. “There was a moment I thought I was going to be fired.”
“We’ve got to get three years of theater out of you,” Dumezweni recalled director Susanne Bier saying to her.
Well, Dumezweni didn’t get fired — and she held her own in scenes with both Kidman and Hugh Grant.

“One of the challenges when you’re working in this milieu is that these people are so wealthy and so busy,” declares production designer Lester Cohen. “To get them to pause and even contemplate letting the great unwashed into their very palatial homes is a challenge,” he says. Cohen, alongside collaborators Keri Lederman and Doug Huszti were tasked with the lavish production design on “The Undoing,” HBO’s six-part thriller set among the wealthiest of New York’s high society. For BAFTA-winning editor Ben Lester, the best part of editing any project is “trying to do justice to what is on the page and recreate that feeling on the screen,” he says of allowing the audience to feel the way he does when he first reads through a script.
As for his work on HBO’s six-part thriller “The Undoing,” Lester reveals that it was particularly challenging and exciting in the editing room after post-production was shut down due to the pandemic, because key department heads were able to revisit their work months later, with a fresh and potentially more discerning eye. “To have that distance and come back and watch it more objectively was really great,” he admits. “To finish it and be away from it for months,” he says, “was a bit disruptive. But, we rode with it!” Watch the exclusive video interview with Lester above.

“I loved her! I loved her. I had no idea who this person is, but I loved her energy,” admits Noma Dumezweni about her first thoughts when she landed toe role of tough-as-nails criminal defense lawyer Haley Fitzgerald in “The Undoing,” HBO’s six-part thriller that concluded last November with an explosive finale. The series was the ultimate “who-dunnit,” keeping viewers guessing about certain characters’ motivations and of course who was responsible for the gruesome murder at the center of the story. HBO's The Undoing managed to wrap up season one with a nice bow during Sunday's finale. After weeks of trying to figure out who was responsible for the murder of Elena Alves (Matilda De Angelis), it was finally confirmed that Jonathan Fraser (Hugh Grant) was, in fact, the killer. Even though we got the closure we needed from the season finale, many fans are still wondering whether there'll be a season two, and the answer to that seems to be a no.
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, director Susanne Bier noted that the decision to make the series six episodes was intentional. "This is a tight story, which is why I think six hours is perfect," Bier explained. "There's something about six that has a natural arc."
"It's not like a drama series where you're not quite sure how they're going to evolve and you have a next season."

If the Television Academy doesn't give Noma Dumezweni an Emmy for her performance on The Undoing, I'll sculpt a trophy out of gold by hand, fly to England, and deliver the replica to her myself because that is how much she deserves the accolade. The British actress stars in the HBO miniseries as Haley Fitzgerald, a highly sought-after defense attorney hired to represent Jonathan Fraser when he's pinned as the prime suspect in the vicious murder of Elena Alves. Though Dumezweni acts alongside other big-name stars in the show - including Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Donald Sutherland, and Sutherland's unruly eyebrows - she commands attention so powerfully that all other characters fade into the background when she's on screen.

HBO’s glossy six part drama The Undoing has come to a close providing answers to some burning questions, not least of which is who killed Elena Alves (Matilda De Angelis). The show closed with quite the bang though, raising other issues that had been playing out in the background throughout the series.
The Undoing was created by David E Kelley and is loosely based on the 2014 novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz – Susanne Bier is the series director. But one night after a lavish fundraiser a beautiful young woman whose child attends the same school as Grace and Jonathan’s son Henry (Noah Jupe) is found murdered. ‘The Undoing’ Star Noma Dumezweni on Looking ‘Really Good’ Working With Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant
With a cast like Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant and Donald Sutherland, it takes a special sort of someone to stand out in the crowd. But that’s exactly what Noma Dumezweni has done in “The Undoing,” David E. Kelly’s adaptation of the Jean Hanff Korelitz novel “You Should Have Known.”
Known mostly for work in the U.K. (she arrived in England when she was 17 as a refugee from Africa with her mother and sister) and as a Tony nominee for “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” Dumezweni co-stars in the HBO limited series as Haley Fitzgerald, a powerhouse attorney hired by a wealthy New York psychotherapist (Kidman) to represent her husband (Grant), a pediatric cancer doctor who has been charged with the brutal killing of his mistress.

With Nicole Kidman starring in a HBO drama written by David E. Kelley, it’s easy to imagine The Undoing as a sort of Big Little Lies spinoff, with Kidman’s Celeste moving from Monterey to New York City and finding love again with Hugh Grant after that unfortunate Perry situation. (Hey, she deserves it!) But The Undoing — premiering Sunday, Oct. 25 at 9/8c; I’ve seen five of the six episodes — is a different animal altogether. It’s more of a conventional thriller than Big Little Lies was, favoring plot over character as it spins a twist-laden murder mystery. And...

The Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant-starring limited series The Undoing has been in the works for quite awhile now. Ordered in 2018 and originally scheduled for March of 2020, the series hit the backburner due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Undoing is set to premiere the first of its six episodes on Sunday, October 25 at 9 p.m. Et. Episodes of the show will first air on HBO and will also be available to stream via HBO Max. Here is the series’ tense first teaser, fittingly punctuated by a heartbeat of a score.
There’s an air of Eyes Wide Shut to that teaser and it’s not just because of the presence of Nicole Kidman. In The Undoing, Kidman stars as Grace and Grant stars as her husband Jonathan Fraser. HBO’s enigmatic description...

The Undoing will finally see the light of day this October.
The long-delayed HBO drama reunites Kidman with Big Little Lies writer and Executive Producer David E. Kelley, and is set to premiere October 25.
The series was initially set to launch in April, but was postponed due to Covid-19.
It follows Grace and Jonathan Fraser (Kidman and Hugh Grant), who are living the only lives they ever wanted for themselves.
Overnight a chasm opens in their lives: a violent death and a chain of terrible revelations.
Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child (Noah Jupe) and her family.
The series also stars Edgar Ramirez (Emmy® nominee for American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace and Carlos) as Detective...
