Exclusive: With two medical dramas on the air, Hart Of Dixie and Emily Owens, MD, the CW is still in the market for medical drama projects and has bought one from producer Jerry Bruckheimer and writer Sascha Penn. Titled House Calls, the show is set in Boston and follows three idiosyncratic young doctors who’ve set up a 24-hour house call business. Penn is writing and will executive produce with Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman, with KristieAnne Reed co-executive producing for Jerry Bruckheimer TV and Warner Bros. TV. This marks a reteaming of Bruckheimer TV and Penn who sold soap/thrilled The Secret Lives Of Husbands And Wives to NBC last season. The project received an off-cycle pilot order in June and is wrapping casting. For Penn, House Calls is in second position to Secret Lives.
