The Million Second Quiz will hit the small screen on September 9 at 8 Pm, NBC announced today. The contest, where time equals money, will last 1,000,000 seconds or nearly 12 days. With more than $1 million cash as the grand prize, the live competition show will air each night at in the same time slot until September 14 and then pick up again on September 16 until its two-hour September 19 finale. The Million Second Quiz will originate from a gigantic hourglass-shaped structure built in the heart of Manhattan. Its walls will be made out of glass so the contestants and the game play is visible from the street. The four contestants that stay in the game the longest will also live in the structure, literally playing the game 24 hours a day.
