London, November 26: An Australian family has set a new Guinness World Record by putting over half a million Christmas lights.
David Richards and his family installed 502,165 lights around their home and garden, as they reclaimed the record they had earlier set in 2011, the Mirror reported.
The Canberra family had lost the record to a family in New York and Richards admitted that he was determined to try again.
He said that it was sort of a reason to do it again, and they didn't break it by very much.
Richards told the Canberra Times newspaper that he thought 500,000 was a nice, round number so he decided.
