Snapchat has secretly acquired Seene, a startup that allows users to snap 3D photographs. According to TechCrunch, this acquisition happened a few months ago. Snapchat could use Seene’s app for new selfie lenses, a new 3D photo format or future virtual reality projects. Cto and co-founder Sam Hare runs Seene’s engineering team, which is split between San Francisco and London. However, the team will relocate to Los Angeles, where Snapchat’s headquarters are located.
